He puts out 2-5 videos on youtube every single day. If that worries or comforts you depends on how you feel about mental health, I guess.

UC's not a jerk, this is what this looks like from the outside. Imagine if I stopped posting anywhere else in the forum and only posted in a thread I made about how pancakes are controlling the world economy and waffles are the only true saviour for our souls (sorry about the example, I'm kinda peckish). People would worry.
I told you before, and I'll tell you again: Take a step back, take a week off without thinking of reptiles or Jesus or whatever. Take a break from weed. Think about the possibility of you being wrong about this whole thing. Meet up with your family and/or friends. Just take care of yourself.

My friend once told me "if you worry about whether or not you're crazy, you're not crazy. But, if more and more people start telling you that you are, and you don't believe them, you're definitely crazy".
I deal with a lot of serious issues with humor. I was not trying to be a dick, but, as Eivind pointed out, from the outside it is pretty difficult to take what you are doing seriously. We used to have plenty of great discussions on this forum, and if your posts as of late are any indication of how you're interacting with the rest of the world, it's fairly certain that you're in the process of losing touch with reality. You are, in written form, unrecognizable. You're not simply a person who's found a new area of interest, you've become utterly obsessed, paranoid and you're actively ignoring everything that counters your beliefs (like me, someone who has studied film, telling you that what you're seeing/making videos about is basically a digital compression glitch). You are no longer capable of wanting to understand the things that counter what you believe in, and that is a sign of either a fanatic or a crazy person (which are basically synonyms). This is something that worries me greatly. I've had two friends who started being "interested in conspiracy theories" that ended up in the looney bin. Both were stoners. One of them made a full recovery, the other one is still there and has been for about five years now. I do not wish that for you, or your family and friends. I hope you can find help and that your family can support you.

Unfortunately, plenty of crazy people are very well aware that the way they experience the world is different. This implies less that one is crazy, and more that one might be experience certain kinds of neurodivergence. Buuuuuut. I understand why this looks intense from the outside, to people who've known Sparrow through this board for a while, but sometimes the approach of pointing out someone else's detachment from consensus reality kind of has the opposite of the intended/desired effect. I don't know. I only know Sparrow through this thread, so i'll stop talking.UglyCasanova wrote:My friend once told me "if you worry about whether or not you're crazy, you're not crazy. Out of my entire post, you wanted to nitpick at this? Yes, I do understand that such a statement is not representative of ALL cases, but that's wasn't really the reason why I chose to quote said friend. If Sparrow is categorized by the latter example of my friend's quote, I don't see the relevance of bringing in the third, unmentioned, category of people. I was simply getting at the fact that a staggering amount of people have been hinting at, or straight up telling him, that he's lost his marbles and he's ignoring it by writing something about Jesus.psychic vampire. wrote:Unfortunately, plenty of crazy people are very well aware that the way they experience the world is different. Re: THEY LIVE - we sleep
FYI I have not read every letter of this thread, nor watched all the posted videos...... so if I'm missing a mark, let me know.
I have a very good friend (in fact he's the friend I've known the longest out of ALL my friends) who dived into this very same stuff. I DO have to admit that there are some things that seem pretty compelling.....until you start to ask more questions...
If anyone wants to get to the truth of the matter, they absolutely MUST examine ALL sides of the story. The pros, the cons, the outliers, etc.... And if I may toss in my two cents, everyone should learn some basic cognitive neuroscience. It's not that hard to understand and it will teach you more of the "whys" that people do the things they do than most religious or philosophical texts will. If you're going to read David Icke, then you'd better read his debunkers/opponents/whatever you want to call them. How else are you going to get to some sort of truth? My friend used the example of a connect-the-dots picture. The more dots you have, the more a picture seems likely. He used this to illustrate why someone like Icke might be right. But the way I see it, that's no different than looking at clouds. One person sees a rabbit, another sees a lizard.... One person sees lizard hybrid aliens controlling everything via the Rockefellers and mass media...etc, and the other person sees the super rich taking advantage of societies too preoccupied with twitter and xbox and religious fundamentalism and who should use what bathroom to realize than their currency is fake and they never agreed to live in this social structure, among a huge list of other things I could bitch about. But the consequences for the average person ARE THE SAME.
Secondly, I gave this stuff a somewhat serious look because my friend and I are very close. But I always came to the same conclusions:
-You can argue back and forth about the points of any given conspiracy theories, but at some point someone has to choose to believe one source over another. This is true of just about anything, too. Why believe one source (like David Icke) over another, like a neuroscientist for example? Why do we have flat earth "theorists" in 2016 when there are overwhelming data showing that it's a sphere (well, almost a sphere, but I'm not here to split hairs
) ?
-The more pertinent conclusion, that we should focus on what is practical at a day to day level and not on a level that we can't influence or change. By this I mean that it's no stretch that the super rich are influencing elections, whether directly, covertly, overtly, or whatever.... This election cycle in the USA has brought that to the forefront more than ever before. But to say that the super rich are actually influenced by hybrid lizard aliens is a stretch that not only is basically un-provable (at least at this point) but is irrelevant to people like us who are just trying to get by. The fact of the matter remains that we still have to learn to rely less on our society (imo) and more upon our skills. The "power elite" are likely going to do whatever the hell they want, whenever they want, anyways so until the lizards are marching down the street I'll focus on trying to become more self-sufficient. It's far more practical than spending a bunch of time researching stuff that may or may not have a tangible consequence.
-Which leads me to my last point, which is this: What if.... what IF it's all true, and they (the hypothetical lizards) would rather have people confused and searching all these endless rabbit-holes instead of taking actions and revolting or changing things? I mean, there are all these people writing books, blogs, and making videos and giving presentations and doing all this research.... instead of taking tangible actions towards positive changes.
Whether or not the Earth is flat, we still have to live on it, you know?
I know that believers will say something like "knowledge is power!" and to that I would reply "Then learn how to grow food, purify water, and rely less on the machine you live in." That's useful knowledge. Save the Icke research for after you can take care of yourself. Because if he's right, then you'll have no choice but to take care of yourself anyway.
I also was confused whether this was a joke thread.... Either way, I'll still say what I said.

Okay, let me apologize and put it another way. Whether or not Sparrow is actually crazy is immaterial here; Sparrow is not going to get help unless they decide that they want help. I'm sure you know this, but the more important part of my response was that telling a crazy person they are crazy is not usually the way to get them into treatment, unfortunately.UglyCasanova wrote:Out of my entire post, you wanted to nitpick at this? While that might be true, I think this thread needed to take this turn, especially since many of you seem to have thought that it was somehow a joke. I'm not going to sit around and pretend that nothing is off, although I obviously will not invest a lot of time in getting Josh help seeing as I'm just some text on the internet...
