My fav is obv Souvlaki. Will always have affection for that record. Wont pretend like I want another Souvlaki.
Will happily embrace the new album for what it is, providing it delivers as Slowdive did once upon a time

See... to a less observant eye, I admit it would appear as if "Hey! These guys just came into SRs thread and disagreed with him!!!" but, being the perceptive person I am, I know its more like "Oh hey these guys got a little carried away in the moment and blanked on the proper etiquette when addressing SR in one of his threads". i mean...objectively...IMO...mojave 3 was whatever and i don't really consider it when thinking of slowdive, and pygmalion i think there was a reaction to the negative perception of souvlaki when it debuted. So i think the only proper thing to do is pick back up at a time that, when we look back critically, we can consider "High Slowdive". That is the EPs and albums that defined what most consider to be the slowdive sound.

This is why i think, as much as i didn't like it, MBV was still relevant as a my bloody valentine record. It was actually shit recorded throughout the years right?


I mean who the fuck really cares about the new swervedriver being a good representation of where the guys from that band are now. So what. Its not swervedriver. Give the band a new name like "dreadless losers that play lame college rock not very loudly" or like "music to really definitely not get laid to" or something.

No idea what your preening protocol is, Space--only real comment I had was that it may not suck.

I've got a lot more faith in its potential level of quality than, say, a new "Pixies" record. Or that long awaited Postal Service follow-up (second cumming?).

Saw Slowdive last month, almost cried. It was really good and such a fantastic experience to have

I have no expectations. I try not to have any expectations for anything these days because everything is shit. But I will be really disappointed if it ends up sucking
