I don't really venture outside of the effects sub-forum there and mostly just stick to the Strictly FUZZ thread.

Some of the behavior over there is truly baffling.

As with anywhere though, there are some great people.

Credit due to the users who sniff out circuit thieves/shiesty rebranders. But it seems for every one of them there's an apologist who chimes in like "whatever it sounds good to me and that's all that matters!" and same for the threads exposing scam artists who straight up take the money & make nonstop excuses.

There is still much useful info to be gleaned. Just gotta be diligent and exercise discretion to keep your sanity, and sides intact.

But the stuffy vibe there permeates everything. Very narrowly defined ideas of "the right and wrong way" to do things w/r/t music. There's a real tragic tone [heh] to many of the posts, littered with unfulfilled dreams and resentment toward everything that's happened after 1979. The stereotypical TGPer is babyboomer age ranged, balding with a ponytail & clad in dockers, loafers & a bowling shirt. Owns 14 overdrives and mostly dials them in the same way to try and nail that Layla tone.

But it doesn't make'm bad
