Very few mixers have that and the ones that do are like 24 HP in size (at the least, I think the MI Frames is 24 HP). Most probably ignore it because you can get the same exact function with the CV input of a VCA.

It's one of those weird ones that is equal parts mild and brutal since I do like to finish things, though
Anyway, I think I just unstuck myself. Thoughts welcome?

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
STILL waiting on my Pico drum from perfect circuit. I have the 12u all rearranged and ready for it, but will probably start dismantling the current configuration with the next module as I expand to the next rack. I have a monster patch going that uses the Torcido as a 4x (8/2) stereo mixer and main output, taking stereo signals from Rosie, bitrazer, demora and rainmaker, which all have their own volume controls. I wanted to explore my mixing capabilities after the recent discussion and found them to be pretty insane already. The scooper is set up as a dual drum and a 4/1 mixer, using the second out to pass the 2 drum gates through as another clock source. I'm saving the patch for a video that I'll shoot once the Pico drum gets here and fills the last hole. I also have so many output choices now that Rosie is just an iPod booster at this point.

How do you do that ?Warpsmasher wrote:The scooper is set up as a dual drum and a 4/1 mixer, using the second out to pass the 2 drum gates through as another clock source.
There's only a stereo input in there...

Ah, gotcha. But there's still potential to do some wacky level shifting and modulation with pretty minimal tweaking to mixers, I would think. Forgot about Frames...seems like n awesome but massively over-built module. I guess one could say the same of MI stuff, which is why it appeals to me less than stuff from a lot of other builders (something about 'knob-per-function').Strange Tales wrote:Very few mixers have that and the ones that do are like 24 HP in size (at the least, I think the MI Frames is 24 HP). The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
There are several full-featured mixers (aux send, stereo, etc.) with CV inputs, but they're big and expensive because there are lots of VCAs inside (one for each CV input) and lots of hardware to control them (pots, sliders, etc.).

All 8 input jacks take audio as well as CV, and all the outputs from submodules can be stackedoscillateur wrote:How do you do that ?Warpsmasher wrote:The scooper is set up as a dual drum and a 4/1 mixer, using the second out to pass the 2 drum gates through as another clock source.

to a single jack, saving the second out jack for CV.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Anyone see that DIY complete synth voice Erica Synths put out? Looks pretty tight.

In other news, I'm attempting to build a Mutable Instruments Braids tonight. Fingers crossed, because it doesn't look like too hard of a build (besides the tiny pins of the STM32).

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
Managed to finally find the time to solder up the DU-RDT kit I got last month. First kit build in a long time - all of my soldering of late has been guitar or pedal related or just replacing the odd busted component. Took longer than it should have, but worked on the first go so I'm really happy! Trigger fuckery all morning long!
What next?
What next?
