My tools have been displaced, mostly drills drivers and such,

I hate having them out and about and was storing them all in an old dresser, which my wife has claimed for one of the kids.

Thinking of getting a giant tool box to put everything in, I have hand tools in their own bag now but even then they get mixed up and stolen (my son likes to claim things for his tool bag) anyone using a giant tool storage system?

When I need to go somewhere with tools I can just take the bag and load it with what I actually need.

Thoughts?
budget? or you could build a traditional carpenter's/cabinet maker's chest?

For those that aren't inon other placements

I have been upping my saw game
Image

I got a kawaii as fuck mini dozuki and a badass saw quiver :thumb:

And I order a kugihiki blade by accident.. [ment to order a whole saw] so had to make a handle, used a piece of rhododendron from a dead branch I trimmed off the tree in my yard a year of so ago

and this came today from japan: Hand Forged TEMAGARI NOKO [Cross-Cut Saw / Felling Saw]- 20-30 years olds NOS

I have a handle for it coming to.. don't know if I will actually use or make my own but I wanted to get a look at how it is suppose to be made before I just go off on my own..

I have a bunch of tools,no pics but I work on cars a little /did asbestos removel & demolition for a while & now I work on satellite dish's & other comm's stuff like cameras on oil rigs. Well not a lot since being promoted :p I do own a house and it needs a complete remodel. I have hammers and basic saws,Dewalt power tools but I need a table saw next! I see a lot of wood working tools in here. Eventually when I finish my house I am making the one side of the basement into a work shop for my tools :)

I bought a duplex and converting it to one big house. The way it is both sides are 2 Bdrm 1 bath places. When done.....1 big ass master bdrm. 1 spare bdrm,1 big ass walk in closet for her,1 work office for me,1 "nice living room/company room" for her,1 game/music room for me....2 bathrooms still & new garage for my Z & Harley.

I will be a broke bitch for a minute but well worth it. We saved a bunch of money up to do the remodeling after we paid it off and bought 2 new cars then the guy who owned the other 1/2 calls and said I want to move to Alaska and need money  So we bought it cheap since he has not taken care of it since he rented it a while ago. But now the remodel savings has to start over. To top that off had to drop $5-6k on my son's wedding last month on top of the city redoing all the gas & water lines and repaving we had to redo it to new specs and pay hook up fee's & we had to redo the sewage to hook up to the new city system so we get another bill so it's been non stop as far as the house goes  I want a new SG or LP damn it :excellent: But it's paid in full no mortgage :)*

I always thought this thread was about the band Tool, until I realized just now that it's in General Discussion

Maybe he can also be the master of thread title changing for better clarification? Or maybe he likes it ambiguous? :snax:

I don't know about master but I went to school for it and did a 7 year stink building crap for all the crappy houses which invalid training a lot of useless fuckers not to chop their fingers off.. so I'm a bit of a nerd.. What I am actually up to is I am putting together a badass tool kit that can handle almost everything AND fit in one tool box so when the Trumptimes come and we are all in madmax land I'll have my tools and skills or some bs  I am thinking about making a new toolbox the one I made in my first quarter in collage [woodworking core class which is a 7 hour a day 4 days a week class, it's a awesome class and SCC still teaches it] has lasted me a good 16-17 years but I am thinking about something more… longer, and holds more… can be used even more as a work surface and is more… more… steampunk? I want to build a vise into it or something.. not sure yet though… anyway.. I got my handle for the temagari noko and it worked out well..

Image

Basically the black stuff you see on the tangs of the traditional japanese saws is not unpolished it's a type of tar that coats it and what you do when installing the handle is you have to heat it up over a flame and once you get it melted you whack the handle on :thumb:

It's so useful! You won't strip the nut and destroy your hand in the process!

Tools.

I should shoot my own in action, but this was the video that convinced me I needed one (after cutting a couple sheets down by hand) and his shop is insanely clean comparatively speaking.
