Do you mean to be able to serve to others? I think it's pretty easy if you have someone with a license. I could see us doing this more as a "party" if needed and just have beer on tap. Also, Marijuana is very legal in all forms. It's kind of awesome if you are into that kind of thing.

It's a byproduct of growing up in places with weird puritanical laws like "you can't buy beer on Sunday" and shit.

North border of PDX is a bridge leading into Washington, though beastiality is frowned upon both sides of the river.

Oregon alcohol laws are:
You cannot legally purchase it between the hours of 2:30 a.m. & 7:00 a.m. (last I checked), but 7 days a week is standard.
Beer & wine are readily available pretty much everywhere, spirits are sold in specialized outlets that typically close around 7-8 p.m, unless you're in a bar - they kick you out at 2:30 a.m.
I think officially you need an OLCC licensed server if beer is being sold, but I'm pretty sure FREE BOOZE flies under the radar (most everything I have ever been involved in flies under the radar).
Public consumption is frowned upon.
Age of encouragement is 21.

The biggest hurdle is venue. Because they get saddled with liability when such refreshments are factored in. If we can find someone with a server license I can bring up some art to stick on the walls and we can try and exploit the gallery loophole, but again, it's going to boil down to house rules.

I haven't lived in PDX for almost a decade now, so I'll be next to useless beyond my ability to show up.

Yeah. I am trying to find a venue with a bar associated with it to make it easy. There's places that do events during the day, and are music venues at night. I have notes out to a few places. Hoping I'll hear back before doing a second blast or I start calling them.

Next step will be looking for more of an art space that we can play as the gallery/private party idea and just bring kegs in.

Another potential idea is to look at some of the bigger practice spaces in town. I rent @ audiocinema under the Hawthorne bridge.

They have a huge main space with stage and PA, don't remember what they charge though. It would have to be BYO as far as booze goes, but I don't think they really care if it's a private party.

Yeah. I wanted to explore the idea of a venue with a bar/food before going to a rehearsal space. Given the radio silence from the usual multi-purpose/concert venues, we may need to look at rehearsal spaces. I'll give them through the week to respond, then start looking at alternative spaces. There's a few oddballs that have been used as pop up galleries in the past. There's a place in inner SE industrial that I've been to parties/art openings at, and also over on Belmont. I think there's a place over by Morrison and MLK that also is just an open event space. I was trying to get us into Holocene or Mississippi studios, or other places like that. They rent for events. Was figuring a saturday morning and afternoon would be fine in one of those places, and we could leverage their bar/food staff. Going to reach out to Dante's tomorrow.
