I haven't made some straight up noise in a while. I'd love to get in on this

So, is it only harsh noise ?

Or is kinda noisy kinda melodic stuff ok ? Are notes banned ?

Ahahaha I mean we could go totally Vomir on it but that's (truth be told) not very interesting to me, so I don't think 'notes' should be banned, as such, but I do think it should be an honest representation of noise music?

I'm on vacation now, but will be back home on Monday. But have my laptop here, so it is possible to put something together out of old recordings if I have to.

Deadline won't be for a little bit, and certainly not before Monday. Here's a tentative timeline:

Participation deadline: 2-8-16 (i.e. a week from Yesterday)

Tentative submission deadline: 16-8-2016?

And in between we should think of an agreed upon length because I love the idea that each of these pieces can function as (sorry but you know it's coming) bricks in Trump's Harsh Noise Wall.

This is the point where I point out that my actual family is largely based in Western Europe, and as a result my 'u'-usage and date arrangements are a clusterfuck. You know how they speak Spainglish in parts of the Southwest? I do that with vowels and numbers.

Haha my Anglophilia really just had more to do with being obsessed with British music, especially during high school. I realized after visiting that I didn't have much of a clue as to how things actually were over there, mainly because I didn't understand the class system at all.

Not that eventually getting an inkling of understanding it was any kind of happy experience though. Excitedly meeting a Brit during college and talking to him about how I was psyched about Blur and Pulp, then having him tell me they were essentially a "bunch of benders." Then me offering up Ocean Colour Scene as some kind of more working class peace offering, only to have the guy say he liked them until he found out Simon Fowler was actually one of said benders.

And yep, 20:16 might be a bit long...

Some more thoughts on time: If (and I like this idea a whole lot) we run with the Ognoy route of having the 'master' track (the Wall, if you will) be comprised of all of our tracks, it needs to be sort of substantial in length because it is, to some degree, the thrust of the piece, right?

Alternatively what if we have a hard cap of 5 minutes and if your piece clocks in at less than that it's whatever, with the final piece being at the end?

20:16 might be too long, the album would probably last for 3-4 hours. Even tho that would have been awesome as well.
