That's true, I was thinking more about if we were going to try playing together in Portland somewhere.

It seems like for what a lot of people here do, bass amps or PA speakers might even be more functional than guitar amps, but i might just be paying more attention to the people who do similar musical stuff as me: confirmation bias and whatnot.

I mean, that's why I play through it? I got the little 5w Bugera because I wanted something to play guitar through, because I still buy the hype on tooobs. But because of the way I run it I know a PA would work better, especially considering it's going to be playing with synths/whatnot.

I guess that's what i mean, it seems like a lot of people would be running synths, drum machines, bass, whatnot? A PA or good bass amp might be nice.

Soooooooooo when you all doing this??? I'm way too dumb to find the actual date. Or is it just a suggestion of November???

I may be able to come if so. I could possibly even drive.

Would it be cool if I brought my brother with me? He's kind of an introvert, but I've been trying to get him involved in ILF for a few years.

No. We are all incredibly extroverted, social, well-adjusted people here. No weirdos allowed.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

Whenever I take a personality test, it tells me "ISFH" aka Introvert, Stay Fucking Home. I'll be fine to chill with y'all, I just may get a little sweaty from some social anxiety I deal with. Your brother is more than welcome, but you're required to provide his regulation ILF banana hammock.

Updates, I'm going to start calling for pricing details instead of emails. And should I get an affordable price, should I pursue the college for audio engineers for a little more professional sound? It will make the session a little more formal.

That's what we did and what we thought would happen, but when we got there Eivind starts it all off with ripping a fart to check the reverb of the room. It will be ILFish no matter what you do in advance.

edit: I read your quote wrong. I thought you were going to approach renting the place by saying you were an audio engineer. :excellent:

I'm still unclear on what formal means, black tie & no beer? :erm:

For what it's worth, I can haul up some amps too. Though, if there's three flights of stairs involved, I will be very selective about what I bring.

I guess before I commit, since there's talk of rentals/etc.. I should wait until I know it's wholly feasible my end. I'm 97% there for November. Feels like a good thing.

Are we wanting to meet in Portland to get drinks/meet up and then do all our playing/whatnot at the nuclear facility, or do we want to try and jam in Portland somewhere too? Or does that depend on how much it'll cost to go nuclear?
