Tonight, gonna have to try it in the loop of Meet Maude. It will come down to whether the repeat's signal inside that loop is strong enough to trigger the mel9 the way the superego did.

Ideally, we will get guitar dry signal, followed by repeats in whatever voice I set the mel9 to...distorted and warbled by Meet Maude.

Might get guitar dry signal, followed by one distorted repeat in the Mel9 voice, and the remaining repeats in the distorted Meet Maude guitar sound.

Or...It might sound just like Meet Maude with nothing in the loop, cuz the loop isn't strong enough to trigger Mel9 at all, in which case I could try inserting a boost or something in front of the mel9...but I'm afraid that will just send Maude into a wild self oscillation at a single pluck of a note.

I will report back...

EDIT: Good news! The manual indicates that the effects loop taps into the signal right after the tone control and just BEFORE the delay. That means as long as the signal there is strong enough to trip the Mel9, all the repeats will be in the Mel9's voice. (in other words, guitar plays melody, creepy clarinet plays repeats in a warped, distorted Meet Maude kinda way) *fingers crossed*

Yep it works perfectly. Here's a quick demo. The Meet Maude bends and warbles the clarinet in a very twisted and dark way:

I just got mine about a week ago and I'm finding it frustrating. Some notes play as expected and some notes (especially hiigher ones) can hardly be heard. It's as if there is a noise gate with a high threshold and slow attack.

Especially higher notes but it happens even sometimes in the mid-range on a note here or there.

Anyone else have these problems?

Maybe try having it later in the chain and hitting it with something that boosts you signal? What PU's are you using?

Gibson Burstbuckers I believe (EGC Denison chessie).

I'm going to try boosting the signal when I go out to the practice space later but I haven't had this problem with a POG2 or SuperEgo in the same position.

You can hear that a bit in my tracking clip above. That lower notes trigger pretty reliably, but as I speed up the higher ones have trouble keeping up. But yeah, boosting might helps that.

I've found it depends on the instrument the MEL9 is set to. Cello does NOT like the high notes and flute doesn't particularly like the lows...but yea it's glitchy and not pristine by any description.

The Choirs don't like high notes either. And you really have to turn the attack all the way down which kind of defeats a little bit the point. I put mine in the Superego loop yesterday, with the attack turned all the way down, and it was better though still not reacting the way I think it should. Disappointing but until Digitech releases the Space Station in a Ricochet sized enclosure, it's the only way to get these kind of synthy sounds in such a small enclosure.

Aww, guess I should done a longer clip there instead of a quick blurb, to better do justice that that love affair between Maude and Mel. It's epic. :)*
