Pretzel and marinara? Hmmm, color me skeptical.
What would really work is a medium-thin pretzel crust with a very thinly spread spicy brown mustard, slices of bratwurst, sauerkraut and just a little gouda (or maybe some other cheese).

Egg on pizza is the best, but usually they do it baked with the pizza so it's more like a sunny side up. You get the gooey yolky goodnees all over.space6oy wrote:i had pizza in paris once. granted i was young, 7th grade. it had a soft boiled egg at the center. most repulsive pizza i've ever had.
Best pizza I ever had was in Spain, thin crust European style and it had fresh salmon on it.

Made a pretzel-crust pizza once. Used homemade hummus as a 'sauce.' Cheese, maybe onion, forget what other toppings. 2/10, would not make again.snipelfritz wrote:Pretzel and marinara? Hmmm, color me skeptical.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

Well yeah, you put hummus on it. No wonder it didn't turn out right.
I do imagine a pretzel crust would be finicky in terms of getting the proper thickness and baking time.

Living in the north-most north of Scotland, the only edible Pizza is the chains. The Hut, Papa Johns, Dominos. PJ's being the best of the 3. Pizza Hut is just a swamp of grease. Dominos like to make their bases replicate the consistency of recycled paper, so toppings just rip right through. PJ's is the least greasy and has a base sturdy enough to support a bit of cheese and sauce.
It's bang average though. Not terrible. But I've never had Pizza from the chains and felt like "this shit rulez!"
Whenever I go south and end up visiting a big city, first thing I do is get some pizza. Sound out a good place and go wild about that goddamn city-pizza. It's much better than abyss-pizza that is all around me. Outwith the chains, there's some horrible fast-food joints nearby that do everything. Pizzas, burgers, kebabs, all sorts of fried junk. It's all pretty horrid. No dedicated pizza joints. Bad pizza or coroporate pizza are the only choice.
I could sure go for a slice of city-pizza right about now.

Re: PIZZAAAAA
I like my pizza wrapped around a burger for extra artery clogging goodness:

Seriously though, there's a place somewhat near me called Pie that makes delicious gourmet pizzas. I don't think they have a single normal pizza in their menu. I had one that was delicious. I don't remember all the toppings but it had some kind of secret hot sauce recipe and like 18 cloves of garlic on it.
Also making your own pizza is the best. My girlfriends dad got a BBQ top pizza oven thing. We toss our own dough (but like personal pizza size, so there's not much actual tossing involved). My go to toppings are usually chicken, broccoli, feta, artichokes, garlic, and pesto

Jarlsberg cheese. It's the only thing Norway has over pizza from other countries. On that ultra thick, homemade square of doom yr buddys mom used to make on movie night.
Especially where I live, you're shit out of luck if you want a cheap single slice, straight up margherita or anything weird or exotic... It blows, because I looove pizza. Have sort of learned to live with certain frozen options and the occasional restaurant pizza. I like pepperoni. And mushrooms. But that stuffed crust whatever, spare me. Pretzels? No.
