About tweeters: if you get one it definitely needs to have a level knob.(although most do.) I always played with the tweeter completely off, but now I run a little on with my 810. It really adds the sizzle to my tone. I shoot for a tone that sounds like a roaring blaze. Like a city burning... But as always ymmv. Go for the tone in your head. \m/

Re: ILF, My Intentions Are Bass
Yeah I really haven't had a good experience with modern heads. Haven't played a great deal(20ish maybe) at high volume but I didn't really like their clipping. I've really always been a more used/older kind of guy. I just recently picked up a acoustic 370 but I haven't gotten the chance to play through it yet.(currently multiple states away from my rig) I'm salivating at the idea of it. 2 weeks.

I played one of those 5 string like matte black stingrays, holy FUCK I was blown away. if I was in death metal bands and speed metal bands still, I would've bought it on the spot.Joe Gress wrote:I really really dig my Stingray, but for many it may be way too modern sounding. They're also expensive.
A G&L L2000 is a great bet for practically anything though. Good shit. Used they aren't too bad either. 6-800?

good deals with Noise. . .guitmatt, magiclawnchair, delaydecay, Fuzz_Pi, nixhex113, theAntihero, Ancient Astronaught, bigchiefbc, jwojtysiak, neonblack, osbornkt

It's a Nordstrand. You're the bass dude. You're supposed to know these things.
Also, Bassist_Diver hasn't posted in over a year. So, I'm not sure why you think an answer from him is coming any time soon.

Re: ILF, My Intentions Are Bass
Is "miss twang" a euphemism for "get an erection?"
A stingray is pretty boss with flatwounds and doesn't sound so aggressive. The flats push it back in the mix where it purrs like a big cat.

I'm sorry. In my defense, I'm a notorious dick.
