I've loved ELP since high school.

I remember hearing Karn Evil 9 on the radio as a kid and forever didn't know what it was, but just had that first line stuck in the back of my brain for years

This is horrible. For some reason (it's awesome?) I've been listening to their first LP and Tarkus a lot the last few days leading up to the sad news. Constantly humming the solo from "Lucky Man", and then hearing the guy is dead... Didn't know about it being suicide, that's really sad. Guy was a genious and an innovator. The early stuff with The Nice and then the first couple of ELP records has been a big influence on me, leading me beyond guitar driven rock.
