I'm not really a regular at harmony central, but man as a employee in a tech company trying to change, I know it's not easy. I'm not going to defend them, but I do hope they figure it out and work through their cutover issues.

Change is uneasy, but you can have a change that makes things more functional rather than a mess to deal with. I think that the developers behind the new layout were trying to do too many things at once, and came out with something that is more difficult than it needs to be.

Yes, it does have some cool new things with it, but it's damn near inefficient to wade through the necessary steps just to post. It's like they tried fusing facebook, twitter, and some sort of new forum style out, but it all just becomes a garbled mess that is hard to read for most people, and even harder to navigate.
Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

ummm i'm gonna have to agree that the new hc site looks ugly
and the time zone thing for their clock is wrong... (they're telling me that i'm gmt -7.00 when i'm gmt -8.00 ugh)
and the colors of the site... yuck

all that aside, i really don't find it difficult to navigate and/or use

If anyone saw the original beta they rolled out, it was clear the forum part was an afterthought tacked on to something which was probably imagined as a grand all-in-one musician website
(or at least it was designed by somebody who never uses forums).

They fixed a few things, but it's still far from what it needs to be.

what i don't understand--not with HCFX but other forums, websites, social networking et cetera--is why do they change from simple layouts & design. those work the best. & the websites w/ simple layouts & basic functionality are the ones that are most popular. soon as they change to a more complex layout & design that is literally like the death knell for that website.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm excited that I can now view threads as a PDF. Wait, actually that sounds really stupid. Why would you ever want to do that?

It it almost wholly unusable.

I guess it's designed to better display more ads per page.

Signed. I can't even use the friggen thing with Opera, and I'm not gonna ditch the browser I've been using for over ten years just because someone designed a forum with too many applets and scripts.
