Michael Gira rape allegation

If that rape thing is true... it's horrible, but It doesn't change the music.
Per example: Noir Desire is one of the best french rock band... they are still even if the signer is a complete asshole. I lost respect for the guy, but the music is still great.

Doesn't it though? Given Gira's heavy lyric themes, I'd really beg to differ
also there's a difference between being an asshole and being a rapist

Just for the record, Noir Desir's singer is an utter asshole because he killed his girlfriend by hitting her during an argument they had. So yeah, not rape but lethal domestic violence. That woman was a well-known french actress, and this happened while she was filming a movie in Lithuania I think (or maybe he was on tour there, I forgot), so this made the news for a long time in France...

That's what I was referencing to. That was horrible.

I feel about the same as DarkAxel seems to.. although I like The Great Annihilator better than Soundtracks for the Blind.. I find all this and the whole thread just fucking depressing and either side of this issue and it's arguments heartbreaking.

When she feared her place in the band was in jeopardy, she fabricated sexual harassment allegations against the main three band members who saw through her lies and wanted her out.

As it was already outlined earlier in the thread, there is no winning outcome. Either a woman was raped...or falsified a story about being raped for who knows why...callously damaging the reputations of real people who will have this stigma follow them 4L...in addition to the countless others who have been affected by such a crime. I'm beyond disgusted people like this can be so thoughtless & play games with others' emotions, livelihood...even freedom...while potentially dissuading actual victims from coming forward with legit accounts of being attacked. Scust.
