I think it may've been a one off custom job.

There is a CT5 on TGP for $250 shipped. Or least it was a little while ago.

Did you get it?
I think the CT5 flip-bubble has officially burst. There are a lot popping up on reverb all the time at increasingly lower prices.

I wouldn't agree that the air is out of the balloon, but it's become a fairly predictable cycle. The prices creep up when pre-orders are closed, and then the prices spike right before a new batch and immediately after. I won't be surprised at all to see this week's $325 CT5s turn into $375 in March. There are definitely more in circulation right now, which is leveling things off a bit, but I don't see it as a permanent change, unless Scott changes his model and starts cranking out far more units.

It's an instant gratification society, and people are still paying above retail, because they can't be bothered to wait 2-3 months for the next batch to be completed. If/when Scott ceases producing the CT5 to accommodate other designs, then I can only imagine the stupid prices people will pay for them.

I will say that this is a great time to be buying secondhand Vanguards. There are multiple people selling them on Reverb right now, and much undercutting is taking place.

Mine arrived today in mint condition, and I'm pretty delighted with my purchase. I decided to wait out the weekend, in order to see how low a couple of sellers would go in competition with each other. So after a pair of cuts, I finally grabbed one.

Upon arrival I paired it with La Calavera and a host of delays for some insanely huge soundscapes. I dig the preset knob, too. It only takes a couple of seconds to save new settings, and 3 is fairly comprehensive for a phaser.
