I finally did it! My new car isn't quite as old or interesting as some of the other ones I've been talking about, but I think I made a great choice.

So here it is:

1990 Miata! I bought it off the original owner, 132k kilometers, full service records (with lots of new stuff like exhaust and soft top) and a factory hard top. I just got it this afternoon shortly before I had to go to work but I love it so far. :!!!:

Congratulations, colin! I've got a homie that used to race those.

Just got back from blasting around some great twisty backroads in my area, holy shit this car is fun. It really does feel like a slightly bigger and more refined Lotus.

Well, no surprise, considering that's what it's pretty much based on.

I'm also kinda surprised you didn't hold out for a new truck. Like the new Ford Bronco or new Jeep pickup.

Congrats dude!
Anyone that can identify whether the rear end of this bike is factory or a kit?

If it's factory, what is it?
If it's a kit, who makes em?

I'm fairly certain the bike Japanese either way.

I found a better shot of that bike for you, Pope:

I stole the photo from here: http://gatesman.com/category/jeff-gates ... torcycles/

Looks custom to me, but what do I know? :idk:

(EDIT: Now I kinda want a pedal with an indicator light like that tail light.)

Congrats on the Miata. They are so fun.

Anyone remember these? Back in the late 90s, early 00s, TVRs were up there for the nuttiest, coolest cars available. So light, so much power, bizarre stylings, crazy paint before every rice burner had that polychromatic rattle can job.

Weld the front fenders to the hood and make the whole front pull off. Do a slight lift gasser style. Run the exhaust out by the front wheel well. Put risers on the engine and cut a hole in the hood.

Then get a hydraulic system with hydraulic jacks that stick out the hood. Flip a switch and they raise the car, backhoe style.

Then put a wench on it...

Congrats Colin. Those were fun to drive.
