Re: FUCKING X FILES
I thought last episode was the best of the mini series so far. Even got a vintage style Mulder rant.

Re: FUCKING X FILES
it definitely felt good to watch mulder and scully run down a dark hallway with flashlights out. maybe I was just too distracted by the guest star? Me and my friend used to always do our best tim armstrong impressions to make each other laugh and hearing him bring up creating a "tulpa" was hilarious.

Re: FUCKING X FILES
Each episode has been drastically different. It's like they're doing one episode in each of the series' characteristic styles. Since the TV climate has changed a lot in the past 14 years, I think they're testing the waters to see what still works and what doesn't so they can make more. They're really relying on old tropes and fan-service though. I can see why they would when they have to make an impact in only 6 episodes, but I hope that doesn't mean Chris Carter is running out of fresh ideas. I've still been enjoying watching them.

Yeah. I loved episode 3. Felt like the absurdist ones David Duchovny would direct [?] or had a more leadership role in. These didn't usually move the larger narrative forward, but just played around in the X-files universe. I do hope they bring it back fully and get after some larger narrative arcs.

Re: FUCKING X FILES
as a struggling filmmaker and x-files addict,
I would love to help out on these.
but feel there are some hiccups vs. the oldies.
but all in all, after all these years it still feels right.
just a bit slow to get the right feel.
last night's episode was pretty good though it wasn't really a drama or comedy
walked a decent line without being over the top like the monster episode.
and the weirdest thing about it was the trumpet/earth rumbles that they started and ended with.
I've never heard about these and they've been around for 8 years I guess.
But I visited a friend yesterday afternoon who I haven't seen in a year.
we had a mutual friend pass away and her apartment building burned down. fun huh?
anyways, she's getting into astro-physics more and I'm pretty weird so we had some fun conversations.
one of which was her asking me if I heard of these trumpet sounds hear all over the world?
so she showed me some youtube videos which are 50/50 because of the camera recordings.
but some are really ominous and doesn't seem real in any way or could be made by us.
nasa said they're natural earth radio emissions but nobody buys it.
most scientists believe it's the tectonic plates shifting but still a hard sell when it actually happens.
but the thing that caused my eyes to water was when I started watching the x-files and that was what they opened with after the bombing.
pretty strange synchroncity that never has happened so quickly.
the same day for something that's been around almost a decade.
and then a tv show reaffirms it the same day.
how could she know.
I texted her and she kind of freaked out.
@.@
anyways, sad to see this end so quickly.
it just started.
I'm done.

Last night's episode was good. The last two were getting to be at the level the old ones were. They're finally settling back in and getting their stride and it's already over.

Ya think the other two are being set up to take Mulder and Scully's place?

I think this was a test to see if a whole season would be worth making. I feel like these episodes have had enough viewership that there will be another season.
