But...look at the cream inside that flesh-colored phallic snack.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

Re: LOCAL DELICACIES
Naw, it's close to a pizza-like dough, but with an lemon/carbonated water base instead of water and fried, so it's both soft and with many awesome pockets of crunchiness in the texture. Then there's the cheese, which is not mozzarella but either Blanco or Guayanes (hispanic cheeses, drier than mozzarella with a darker flavor when melted, still glorious) and they sit perfectly together.popvulture wrote:It's like a mozzarella stick and an egg roll had some master snack-race progeny.Inconuucl wrote:I forgot some shit in my last post.
Tequenos
I need that in my mouth like yesterday.
I just had some as comfort food, best snax to snax on.

Also, I'm jealous of places with large Salvadoran populations:

Yes! Pupusas! You might like Guisados too then.

If you're in Orange County (CA), specifically Garden Grove, you must go to Brodard's Vietnamese restaurant for their crunchy spring rolls & macarons. Great bird watching too.

The best burger in the L.A. area is sold inside a liquor store http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-standing-ro ... do-beach-4 which now also has a restaurant. We also have Hop Doddy's now which I believe is from TX. They make their own bread & grind the beef in-house.
Hakata Shinsengumi Ramen is my favorite in L.A./WLA/South Bay; and the best kept secret sushi is Sushi GO 55 in J-town.
My favorite K-bbq is http://www.yelp.com/biz/kang-ho-dong-ba ... korean+bbq

Re: LOCAL DELICACIES
I prefer the Colombian/Venezuelan variations, the Salvadorian ones tend to be too watery.

Re: LOCAL DELICACIES
I used to work across the street from a Salvadoran joint. Nostalgia.
(I knew Chuckchuck was gonna be a shill for Yelp.)

Is Panda Veg still open? I remember eating there while completely wasted out of my mind at Best Friends' Day. The memories are hazy at best. Maybe electric blue water from Hadad's counts as a local delicacy?BoatRich wrote:I'm pretty sure Richmond just has oysters and crust punks?
Also, thanks for the sig quote, D.o.S.
