i guess its been awhile and i don't really remember how the series ended...is that movie's storyline where they saw some actual aliens/their ship under the snow not part of the tv series storyline or something? was that explained away?

i don't own a tv and there's a week gap between the US and Australian premiere.
i dunno about you guys but TV is a joke here, ads are horrifically loud and make up about half of the broadcast slot, that's not service, it's torture.
i'd happily pay money for an official stream of the episodes but people don't seem to want to do that. sucks but what do you expect, really?

Sorry, but I thought the first episode was pretty bad. The acting was disgraceful. I've read that it gets better with the second and third episode, though.

one totally minor thing pissing me off is that the text fonts look really jarring and bad in HD. i'd be curious to rewatch the old seasons in HD but i can't help but feel the old makeup/SFX/costumes with the creepy shit would just look weird.
i dunno. i prefer DVD quality tbh... Blu-ray looks too real, weirds me out.

i just watched the first one. i don't know how i feel about it, there's definitely something about the acting and pacing that feels different from what the show used to be that's kind of bugging me even though on the whole it was certainly enjoyable. i think Joel McHale was kind of a shit casting choice, too. curious to see where it goes, anyway.

Yeah, I described it as feeling like they were doing a parody skit for some late show. As if they came in, read their lines, and shot the rehearsal. Hopefully, they will catch their stride quickly.
