Re: Generation Loss - VHS simulator
Got mine in today as well, absolutely crazy awesome. Really recommend getting a 7 knob because this pedal compresses your signal (for VHS quality) and I'm bitch when muh toanz get fucked with. Also the Gen knob is really incredible. Was able to coax some weird ass ring mod style tones as well. I'll be doing a lot of videos this weekend while getting snowed in so get ready! Gonna figure out crazy things.

If you fuck with the hi and lo you can cut through a signal. It only seems to compress on certain settings. I do wish I would have got a 7 knobber though. But I'm happy with my 6!

That makes sense. I don't think I could turn down my hi below noon without going into pooty fart noise mode, I might've had my SYB-5 doing suboctave stuff though I honestly don't remember already.

Well I just couldn't hold myself back from making one little demo. I play around with the pedal the entire time while I learn it. I think it cops some sweet ring mod style stuff as well. Lo knob stays up the entire time because I'm playing a bass.

I don't have time to play with it properly for another couple of days, but HNNNNGH!!!

It really does squish the signal though. Will probably have it paired with a blender pedal on my tabletop, but it sounds really spectacular!

Eat my pussy, boner-biter
I'm not worried, but I think blending it with the "clean"/uncompressed signal will really bring it to life. So it'll basically be the 7-knobber

ah i thought the squashed sound was important to the vibe i was going for. if its not your thing i can (eventually) send you a new chip with a compression-less program on it.

You know what would bad ass is to put the squish on an expression control. I wonder if that's even possible!

Re: Generation Loss - VHS simulator
Nah, that's cool. It definitely benefits from the compression, it just seemed a little too squishy. But then again, I played it straight into a really shitty DAW (for 5 minutes). I don't mind having it split into a mixer. My tabletop has two mixers, so it's really not a problem. I appreciate you offering though!Teej212 wrote:ah i thought the squashed sound was important to the vibe i was going for. if its not your thing i can (eventually) send you a new chip with a compression-less program on it.

Re: Generation Loss - VHS simulator
unlikely, theres zero room in the enclosure for any more hardware and it would have to replace one of the existing controls which i think shape the sound in a more significant way than compressionjwar wrote:You know what would bad ass is to put the squish on an expression control.
