Without dedicated modules, you can end up with vocal-sounding stuff with most resonant filters. I'd have to look up for the exact technique/patching but that's definitely something you can get with "normal" modules.D.o.S. wrote:Yet another annoying question: Was getting some fun vowel sounds out of my stomps last night, am assuming there are more in depth modular options for this (I know about the Flame but I think that's discontinued and Spaceboy won't sell me his because the world is a cold dark place), any suggestions?

Yeah that's more or less what I've got going with the filters I have now, there's just some parameters that I can't cover adequately basically that the sweep isn't slow enough while still remaining vowel shaped. (This is always my problem, incidentally). DIdn't realize you could use a joystick with the Foment Filter, that's p. interesting,

Has anyone received their Trogotronic case ?
If so, any comments/pics/etc. ?
I'll very probably get one soon but any new feedback would be great

Just cleared a patch so it seemed like a good time to grab a photo of the newest iteration of my set up:

Mine shows up tomorrow. My buddy ordered one a few days after me from Perfect Circuit and it showed up last week (oscillateur wrote:Has anyone received their Trogotronic case ?

Cool, looking forward to your impressions

For the distro boards, they're all like that as far as I know (Synthrotek, 4MS, etc.), I don't think any of them clips.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
That case actually looks really nice. I'm realizing that I could upgrade my power supply and make my rig portable with two of them. And they're a reasonable price so that's surprisingly not totally out of the question. I'll have to look into them a bit more when I'm ready to upgrade.
I sold my Epoch Benjolin and bought a Noise Engineering Loquelic Iteritas. I'm sad to see the Benjolin go, but I don't think I'll miss it too much. I really wasn't using it too frequently and I'm on the list for a Blippoo Box anyways. And the Loquelic Iteritas looks right up my alley. Bring on the harsh morphing drones
I still need to get a proper trigger sequencer thing. I'm thinking the ALM Pamela's Workout plus swapping my RCD+BO for a Noise Eng Numeric Repeater or maybe just some standard logic. Or maybe I should just get an Abstract Data Octocontroller. I was thinking about the Monome Meadowphysics, but that Grid is crazy expensive and apparently draws a lot of power.

I think I might like this one more than the Mother 32, but I need more demos.

It's Pittsburgh modular's answer to the Moog Mother 32.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
I'm planning on getting that keyboard module too for my planned 6U portable rig.
About trigger generators : Pamela's Workout is great. One really nice thing is that there's a start/stop button. Very, very useful.

Re: Can we talk about modular synths?
The start/stop is a huge plus for the Pamela, but I'd only be able to use it as a trigger sequencer, whereas the Octocontroller has all the other things that would be super useful like the LFOs and S&H. I actually really don't know which I'd rather.oscillateur wrote:About trigger generators : Pamela's Workout is great. One really nice thing is that there's a start/stop button. Very, very useful.

Warps arrives tomorrow (ordered on christmas from PCA, and they ran out, so this is a backorder from a fresh batch).MrNovember wrote:Bring on the harsh morphing drones![]()
I just started messing with the gate sequencer mode in the Voltage Memory, it's very nice. Need more drums now.
I also liked the WMD qunexus-looking keyboard thing they had a preview of a while back - can't remember the name or video now, but it had diagonal lit up keys and looked awesome. I think I'd wait for that...I already have two fancy touch controllers though.
