So much cool synth stuff. And a ton of left handed instruments, too.
I "hate" Japan, too, space6oy.

This guy my old band recorded with had this studio that consisted solely of equipment he bought in Japan. A bunch of weird knock off Rick style guitars. Fernando guitars? I think that's what they were called.
His synth and effects collection was so dope.

Gotta spend yen to make yen

that's something i got lucky about, went nuts buying synths & drum machines back around 2009 before everybody and their brother started wanting 'em.

it was modular that killed my pocket. tore it right out and ate it.

Well, your currency is stronger now compared to the yen than a 4-5 years ago (which was a good time for me :) ), at least...

says the dudes in USA with the strong mega currency and enormous domestic gear market
there are often ways to ship stuff much cheaper so unless its an enormous piece of equipment its worth at least contacting the sellers to ask. Japan is one of the better places to ship to and from.

Yeah, whinging to Aussies about US gear prices is a bit of a pisstake really.
"Oh dudes, there's this Sunn Model T down the road for like $200, but I'm bummed, the guy is just not realistic in his pricing. I might have to drive fifteen minutes to pick up this other one for half price, what a fucking dilemma!"

Meanwhile, in Australia: "you mean there are amps that aren't Marshall? And they don't cost over $1500 for a beat to shit one?!"

Maton, which is actually not a bad thing.
But we don't get them cheap, you still pay Gobson equivalent prices.
So fuck Maton.
