Oh, no offense was taken! Considering we spend our entire lives inhabiting them, people really should take time to talk about their bodies and figure out what feels right. I didn't exactly get a vasectomy, so my place in this thread is a lot more tangential, but I support anyone taking agency with their bodies or reproductive health, it seems pretty important. My initial post was mostly a joke, bc I realize that number of people lining up to get neutered is exceedingly fringe. But bodies and aesthetics are real, you gotta do what makes sense for you, I think.

Gender is a topic that fascinates/infuriates me, mostly depending on the day.

Now that my wife and I have conceived our #2, I'm idly considering methods for preventing #3. As the common wisdom states (and I have the semen analysis tests to support) trans-related hormone therapy is not to be relied on as contraception.
She mentioned vasectomy but if I'm going in for surgery, why not orchiectomy? Well, she kind of likes the balls.

PV, was your recovery from the orchi much different from what's described as recovery from the vasectomy? And what pronouns do you prefer?

Unfortunately, my surgeon stopped letting folks keep their balls in a jar a few weeks before i got them gone, bc some woman tried to bring hers on a fucking plane... So i didn't get to keep mine, they got incinerated and are in a medical waste landfill, probably somewhere in Michigan. On the plus side, whenever someone makes a "Deez Nutz" joke in my presence, i get to say "Deez nutz are in a landfill" which feels like an apt life description.

I've alluded in other threads, most people would probably recognize me as a trans woman, but i don't too much care for that label/identity. Don't like gender, and don't want all acts of gender non-conformity to just be swallowed up by the trans umbrella, as a result of aforementioned dislike of gender. All that said, getting snipped ruled. It did look weird at first, and i spent a long time considering how i felt about the aesthetics before i made the decision, but it was a great one. It looks cool, i have to take a LOT less medication, and i can absolutely, positively NEVER have children. Zero regrets.

At this point I would say the healing process is literally so different from person to person. I have taken 4 friends to get orchies as well, and every one has been pretty different to watch. Mine was... intense, and it's a safe bet that you will want to set aside one or two weeks to recover. I just wanted to lay down and be in pain the first few days afterward. Pain medication was sort of a must for me. Just took a partner to get it done not too long ago and she was up and at 'em much faster on barely any pain meds. As far as aesthetics, I like the look, and no balls makes certain things in my life a lot easier. Pain aside it was two weeks of my life and it was totally worth it.

They can for sure. My were large to begin with, so a little trimming didn't bother me. LOL!! I'm not joking.

So when you sever the vas deferens, you testicles no longer need to do part of their job and they can partially recede from it. So they don't shirk, but they move basically upward slightly, which I have been fine with.

I'm also on HRT (hormone replacement) which can cause some shrinkage as well. As long as they are pebbles, I'm ok. hahaha.
