I agree about Snoke looking out of place. I thought the same thing about him being tiny. Like Yoda sized. There's no way he's actually that huge. People are saying he might be Darth Plageus or whatever that is mentioned in the prequels as being the only Sith that was able to use the force to become immortal. I was thinking it would be cool if that's why he's all fucked up because while the force keeps him alive maybe his body is still decomposing. Also he's definitely human because the empire didnt let nonhuman races in, and I doubt the Space Nazis...er, First Order would change that much.

I think I'm one of the few people who hated it completely. I got tired of the constant references to the original trilogy. It felt like J.J. kept on going "hey remember how much you liked these movies" without adding anything interesting of his own. Also it felt like a kids movie because of all the lame ass dialog. But because of all the action it was like a violent kids movie. Just odd and terrible. I kind of think this will get as much hate as the prequels once people's nostalgia wears off.

So, I liked it. It was entertaining. But I am with you. It needed an edit. Badly. Just odd timing and cuts, sometimes long, sometimes not long enough...what the fuck was that closing, no dialog scene? A friend of mine is hoping the start of the next episode is luke grabbing the light saber and striking Rey down.

What other movie franchise would we let get away with so many repeated motifs? Death Star/Father Son/Death Star X-wing canyon run/BB8 = R2D2.
In a lot of ways it felt like an original trilogy cover band.

WHY THE FUCK DOES NO ONE BELIEVE IN JEDI's? It hasn't been that fucking long...how does Rey know to use the Jedi Mind trick? Then again, why did Obi-wan age so poorly between episodes 3 and 4?

What I loved: The universe was great. Rey was fantastic. I loved that Fin and Poe thought they were going to be the hero, and clearly Rey is the ass kicking hero...At least something happened, between Han and Ben. I thought Ben being a whiny little petulant bitch was kind of funny. He's essentially Luke, but on the dark side...

I dunno, I definitely have a mixed review. I am stoked to be back in the original trilogy universe, but I wish the story was a bit more dialed, and a little more original.

Nah, geek culture is so in vogue these days that people will eat up whatever Hollywood bullshit they're given as long as there's something familiar about it.

It's like Adele (or whatever bland top 40 music): If you put enough money into producing/advertising it, there will be a mindless mass that isn't capable of recognizing how utterly boring and uninspired it truly is.

Of course this is coming from someone who realizes the original trilogy is just ok. it excels in as many areas as it is amateurish. Frankly, if you can't recognize C3PO as an obnoxious and unnecessary character (on par with Jar Jar Binks), you're probably too blinded by nostalgia to approach Star Wars with any intelligence.

Your probably right. I guess this movie was so boring and had so many problems that I hope people are able to recognize it as a bad movie. Honestly I could have slept through this thing.

I just watched it though so I hope my hatred of it will fade with time. Unfortunately the more I think about the plot, dialogue, and pacing the more I hate it.
