I might want this instead of a dixie, but now I need the room.

Wow, that's a really nice case. It looks like they've really planned out all those little utility modules. There's even a spring reverb in there. That's just phenomenal. I kind of want to build a little portable system with that now.
And Rings is exactly what I've been waiting for.

I don't really understand ribbon controllers. They've always looked more like toys than something I'd actually use :idk:
I'm pretty sure Doepfer makes a pretty decent one though.

I've never used it, but people seem to like the Doepfer one a lot.

That case is incredible. And then I saw the pricetag...which pretty much describes my reaction to all of euro. Why the fuck are cases so expensive? I've resolved to just buy a uZeus, rails, and some lumber to fit into my Rondo Music pedalboard case. Total cost: $160 for 7U x 104hp...though I won't be able to power more than, say, half of that with one uZeus...(scribbles on note pad, plans to spend much more money)

All it takes is cash. No other barrier. It is legitimately exquisite, though. The control paradigms are really interesting--you could use a ribbon controller (never have, myself), theremin, Pressure Points, Beat Step Pro or other sequencer, photresistors, Teleplexer...long list of weird electromechanical jigs where you "complete" the circuit. Pretty gnarly.

Cannot for the life of me figure out how to embed videos here. Tried removing the 's' in https, no luck.

The price tag is actually really nice. If I'm interpreting it correctly, it includes a power supply that is much more robust than the uZeus, all the modules in that top 1U row, and a spring tank for the reverb. I'm honestly surprised at how low the price tag is.

Yeah, I was sad about the price until I priced out how much all the included modules would cost separately. :idk:

If there's an & in the url just get rid of it and everything that follows.

Yeah it's looking like Doepfer is going to be my only option if/when I head down this route. I just happen to prefer using a ribbon to a pitch wheel, keys or knobs to manipulate pitch in real time if I can -- feels more intuitive to me since I was never a piano player.

OKay, that monome case is waaaay too shallow, there's a lot of modules that don't fit. Shitty oversights like that are complete GAS killers.

That was the first thing I noticed about it. They have to be built with a specific company in mind because I don't think even Make Noise/Mutable Instruments modules will fit in there, and both of their modules are pretty shallow.

The lack of standards is a real quagmire for euro. Also, I'm reading the price ($1100 for the preorder) correctly, right? It just seems like that kind of defeats the purpose of modular, having a bunch of selected tiles included...even if they're just boring utilities. So: case, power, bread-n-butter stuff is $1100? It is beautiful, though.
