The first two albums get all the love but Tiny Music was such a cool departure.

If by departure you mean amazing album, I agree. :)

Nothing could ever change my deep-seeded abject loathing of the Stone Gossard Pirates, but this is still sad. Drug addiction sucks. Dying young sucks. RIP.

Never understood the 'pearl jam ripoff' thing. STP was way more hardrock with psychedelic stuff inspired under the label grunge than Pearl Jam who always sounded like mushy blooz rock to me. Weiland was way more glam/bowie inspired kinda frontman than lumberjackism.

Yeah, that first album was definitely in the same territory. Thing was, they were both brand new bands. So not really ripping off except by A&R creeps.

I'll be honest, had no idea he was still alive. I remember liking a couple songs off tiny music but they were always just a band on the front of guitar magazines to me.

also the fact that Anthony Kiedis is still alive is yet again proof that there is no god.

I would like to take this moment that two of our resident emotional stopped clocks have reached reached an apex, and it happened when we were talking about Stone Temple Pilots.

I also think they're a band people actively dislike because they're told to. I have a hard time envisioning a world where they play a large enough role in someone's world where hatred is the inevitable result.
