When I lived in Seattle I just walked or took the bus. Since I've been back in NY I have been sharing a car with my wife, but was on the same commute before and now I work from home. No, cars suck AND most drivers are idiots.Chankgeez wrote:Glad that you've made it thus far unscathed, SLK.
Well, I've always lived in bike friendly cities. Sadly, I think, those days are coming to an end.ShaolinLambKiller wrote:All of you must have very convient ways around and don't like traveling much.
That's the truth (or most of it anyway).ShaolinLambKiller wrote:Cars aren't dumb, idiots driving are and there are a glut of them.

Re: Automobile Accidents
Naw dawg, cars don't suck. I don't blame a tool for the operator's ignorance.
but yea even though I live in rather decent sized city/metropolis area of the coast. I would have never been able to hold any job riding my bike 20 miles to work one way and that was every job I've had on the coast. Public transist is practically nonexistent, it's more of an after thought. Oh and hauling gear in a red wagon to a show ain't going to cut it.
You just drive defensively, not offensively and that's how you survive. my wife had never been any wreck or anything till that trip back from florida.
a vehicle is freedom, I like being able to have the option of going to shows hours away without being one of those people who has to beg or find a ride to and back. Just thinking about that makes me cringe.
