A nice multimode filter is a very useful tool. I've got an Intellijel uVCF and it performs perfectly, very useful as a 1V/oct sine VCO too.

I would like a Wasp filter however. :D

Does anyone know of a high quality dual VCA that does both linear and exponential? I was looking at the Doepfer A-132-3, but after some poking around it turns out that that unit is actually quite noisy even with the gain at 0. Not really looking for added noise in my jams.

Currently on the lookout for a module that can do both linear and exponential, but if need be I can split it up. For now, the PM VCA seems like a pretty good dual linear one, so I guess what I'm looking for is a good dual exp VCA, or a quiet dual VCA that does both lin and exp.

edit: To append on to this while searching. It seems like absolutely no one makes a dedicated exponential VCA. So far the other two I've found that do both lin/exp are Blue Lantern's NJMVCA and Intellijel's uVCA2. It seems like a lot of people hate the Blue Lantern dude as well, so I guess I missed some juicy drama.

the intellijel is probably better for low noise of the two. Blue Lantern has a reputation for building clones with cheap/weird part substitutions (hence the reputation and the price) so they're prone to noise issues.

Seems the best option as well! The Intellijel is a lin/exp one as well so that definitely solves needing two separate VCA modules.

Also I've looked into the Doepfer WASP filter which looks pretty sweet. If I don't end up getting this Erica Synths Polivoks VCF I think I might go for that.

This guy, Adam, makes Buchla 100 and 200 series clones. His videos definitely helped me decide to switch to Buchla.

I need to get a lpg. The optomix seems cool but the PM LPG seems more versatile. I also have the STO, Maths, Telharmonic, Moddemix, and MMG, so I'm trying to diversify. I wanna try the Dual Borg but it's outta reach for a bit.

Wish local places had modular.

Fireworx sold, Rosie ordered on the cheap. More soon, waiting for some deals. Do any of the big retailers like analoguehaven, foxtone, perfectcircuit etc do holiday discount sales like prymaxe and pgs?

So many filters...so far I want a Wasp, a DSI Curtis, Plague Bearer, and this, with joysticks:

I think the major differences are the plugs and some of the build standard

Without going into all the historical/design/etc. debate, basically connectors (banana for Buchla, minijack for euro), types of signals (all the same in euro, CV and audio separate voltage ranges in Buchla) and actual format of the modules/cases (4U for Buchla, 3U for euro). And the fact that Buchla is a mostly homogenous format, i.e. one brand. Which has obvious advantages (everything's designed to work together) and disadvantages (there is so much stuff in euro, even though Buchla always has its fair share of innovative modules).

That, and price. Buchla's not cheap. Not that eurorack's cheap either but at least it's less expensive :).
