Scream Queens (and AHS)

Post by blakestree »

I went into this, tonight, very skeptical. But, I just had a lot of fun watching the premiere. I think Coven woulda been much better if it had tried to be funny, instead of just being laughable.

AHS Coven? I thought that season was pretty good, a tad long in the middle like it was just sorta hanging but I liked it.

This I believe my wife wants to see it so which means I'll watch it as well. I'm not super stoked on it but I'm not pooing it either. I'm indifferent at the moment. I rather watch it all at once. not as in a day but like a single episode every night like I do with other series. I find it more enjoyable that way for me.

Yeah, I thought Coven (they share the same creator) started out pretty strong and by the end was complete shit.

I thought Scream Queens would be a watered down Coven shit soup. In fact, I didn't even expect to stay with it throughout the two hour premiere. But, it was a pleasant surprise. Very funny show. Sometimes, brilliantly so. I'm not saying it is perfect, by any stretch. But, I will definitely tune in next week.

My wife loves AHS, but thought Coven was kinda dumb/long/pointless even though she enjoyed it. Sat through every season with her. The first one was ok, Asylum was pretty good, but Coven and Freak Show I did not like at all.

Anyway, skeptically we DVR'd the Scream Queens Premier and will watch it tonight...good to know it ain't too bad and funny. I think most of her skepticism about Scream Queens is because she thinks Eric Roberts' daughter sucks for some reason...I dunno. haha.

I haven't watched Freak Show, yet. But, I've heard pretty bad things about it. And, Coven nearly made me want to stop watching American Horror Story. Perhaps I've been drawn back by the prospect of the seasons being connected.

I don't have a problem with Emma Roberts. She plays her characters well, even though they are almost exactly the same character in Coven and Scream Queens.

I thought Coven got back on track towards the end. I don't know I can't see how it was utterly destroyed, just sorta floundered a bit.

Freak Show I absolutely loved. first season I enjoyed as well. Asylum I haven't watched. we just haven't. no real reason why.

I like that they are connecting the seasons.

Asylum is good but they try to pack so much in that it gets a little ridiculous. Overall I thought it was pretty good.

Hotel seems promising. I know they're drawing from a lot of creepy real life stuff, like the girl in the elevator surveillance videos that looked like she was being followed and then ended up in the water tank. That kinda stuff.

Murder House is probably my favorite, with Asylum being a close second. My wife prefers Asylum. And, if you haven't seen it SLK, then you're missing the first connection in Freakshow.

Wait is she actually in this show? That's awesome.

I definitely came in here expecting, you know, some Troma content and Susperia stills.

I guess they figured they couldn't make it without her.

And I missed it. Fuck.

Always been intrigued by the show (I've seen like 10 minutes total over 3 episodes) because I dig horror a lot but I'm not really a sit down and watch TV at a specific time of the night person so I've never been able to really marathon it.

First season of AHS was good. I liked the second one as well, if relying more on weirdness than scares. The other two was not for me, at least. This looks terrible (to me). Jamie Lee Curtis is cool though, but she doesn't seem to be too present, at least not in the trailer. :idk:
