Re: ILFSS '15 Wishlist Thread
I'm not sure what to put here but given that I'm really more of a lurker here I feel stalking may be difficult and thus this post might be very important.
As an aside the hottest hipster girl that I have had a crush-best-described-by-the-swell-season-song-falling-slowly on for a number of years now just walked past me on campus and waved setting my heart a flutter.
Back to the list.
Clothes: I'm a Small or medium, go medium to be safe, depending on the brand but clothes are tough as I keep a very limited wardrobe. Band tees are cool so long as both the graphic and band are rad. And Ts get worn to the gym or on laundry days so it'd get doused in the loving man sweat we all crave.
Music: I'm currently putting together a Google document cataloging my music collection and will attach that to this post once complete. In general I like a little bit of everything but I'm particularly fond GY!BE, 2814, Boris, Neat Beats, and any of Yoni Wolfs projects. I listen to music mostly on vinyl and cassette so those formats would be preferred. You'd have to try hard to disappoint me with any music choice you might make. And if you have any music out right now I'd love to play it really loud and continue down the path of corrupting my friends-cum-roommates to ILFs music dark side.
Food: I have four notes on food: One, I'm gluten free due to a digestive condition. Two, Mushrooms put me in the hospital due to severe allergies. Three, it's cold here in December, like really cold, so as much as I want to drink all your local delicious sodas anything liquid in a not resilient container (pop cans and pop bottles in particular) will likely not survive the trip. Four, it is against the law for me to recieve alcohol through the post here.
Aside from that you really can't go wrong. I love coffee and tea. I'll eat sour candies until they make my mouth bleed. I love to cook so your great grandmas secret recipe for pork jowl in a sauce of fig and Rosemary would be the greatest Christmas present ever, and I promise I'd defend the secret with my life, no Clist celebrity will be teaching the recipe to bored wine-drunk stay at home moms at 230 in the afternoon on the food network.
Gear: Now this is a particularly thick patch of brambles. Since the other member of my duo project has moved to Montreal my live setup is moving away from guitar and towards my electribe sampler and eurorack rig. This presents a small issue in that eurorack, though it's what I'm mostly gassing for, is extremely costly and my desires are very specific. In terms of pedals I'd like a tremolo but I don't need anything fancy, the Janus seems like a fun approach. An envelope filter would be cool and Im rather fond of the aw3s vowel mode so something that hits similar sounds would tighten my pants slightly. Fuzz is always cool and I love the BAT and DBA stuff. I don't know you can figure something out that will make me smile until my cheeks have begun to hurt and fallen off at which point I can cook them up in your great grandmothers secret jowl and fig sauce recipe and feed them to a detective in a hanibal-esque fashion.
A picture of you with a mall Santa is my only specific request. I know I'm including one to my secret santee.
Stalk away and don't take anything I've said here or anywhere else on the forum as gospel, I'm often drunk. Make your own mind up about what a fat-teen-cum-self-conscious-skinny-hipster-with-low-social-drive would want for Christmas and get me that.
Ps. You look particularly good in that shirt, it really makes you glow.

Re: ILFSS '15 Wishlist Thread
I'll try to make this easier for my stalker since I don't post much these days (I'll also try to make a point of posting more).
I wear an XL t-shirt
No food allergies, I like to eat (hence the xl shirt).
I've got pretty broad musical taste, and I like checking out new things. I don't currently own a record player, but do have a bunch of vinyl. So what I'm saying is that if you send me vinyl don't expect me to be able to listen to it right away, but maybe that would finally give me a good reason to actually buy a record player.
As for pedals/gear... well I'm pretty sure that the last time I got a new pedal was last christmas, so chances are I'm gonna be stoked as shit for whatever it is. I'd definitely be super excited for something like a filter, bitcrusher, some sort of glitchy pitch shifty looper, etc. Some sort of wacky modulation would be sweet. And of course I like fuzz. Some sort of drone box would be awesome too. I'll post a photo of my pedalboard (which is like 90% of the pedals I own).
Other interests include cats, cars and lego.

Re: ILFSS '15 Wishlist Thread
pedals i like: ummm, I will say that it is pretty easy to find out what I have and what I have kinda gotten angry about...but yea...I think I am pretty easy to figure out. I like to play guitar through stuff that doesn't make sense...I like all different kinds of stuff...not big on sweet, blues, good sounds though. I dunno. Not picky at all
-L or XL shirts 'cause I gots redneck muscles and am like 6'1" and shirts are always short
-vegetarian...beyond that, real weird about food (I have had the same sandwich type everyday since the 1980s...and beyond that everything else I eat is a variation of that sandwich except french fries)but don't let it stop ya...my wife will eat any food that isn't made from insect or congealed liver...but perishables probably ain't a good idea...
-Books...mostly historical stuff about secret stuff or stuff that makes me laugh about secret societies...I dunno, got lit covered pretty much
-umm...music->...yea, but I have to like some kind of variety because I own way too many records to be normal but not excessive (just 20+ years adds up). Mostly like punk but would probably be most interested in is local bands. I can play beta max, vhs, dvd, cassette, 8-track, vinyl, digital, minidisk (not ADAT or Laser Disc yet)...either way...again pretty easy to figure this one out
Local/regional stuff is awesome...
I might buy or may find something that is rare-ish, trogotronic, or lastgasp
Sorry
Not really picky at all about anything. Just happy to be involved and get somebody something.

Re: ILFSS '15 Wishlist Thread
Shirts: Men's Extra Large
Food: No allergies. I'm a huge beer fan, the hoppier the better though I'll try anything besides a gose. Ew. I live in Michigan, so any beer made outside of the mitten would be great!
Gear: I do not like octave fuzz or very splattery fuzz. Something really weird would be cool. Looking for something akin to a Bit Commander or something that will make my band facepalm or make my guitar not sound like a guitar.
Oscillating fuzz. Nothing muff-like unless it's civil war based or rams head. Or triangle. Okay, muff based is fine. I already have my black russian, op amp and nyc bases covered tho.
A shitty bass would be cool. Your project guitar that you don't want.
Music: Your CDs or Vinyl pl0x. Shoegaze. Shoegazi. Really old hard bop jazz, anything with Tony Williams or Art Blakey.
Books: Dystopian future is my love.
Stickers and other local merch would rock.

small shirts are cool. socks are cool, especially if they're not super thick.
i would love some new books and i'm generally not too fussy - maybe i prefer non-fiction though.
music - anything is cool though. no tapes please.
pedals - uh whatever
other random things i would be interested in - any weird old radios/stereo equipment (shitty is fine), any weirdo crappy guitars or a BASS (YES!), shitty small amps, did i say shitty? because shitty is cool.
food - i love anything good and regional. not shitty.
i'm easy.

Also Santa, don't get me an OBNE, that's what I'm gonna guilt my mum into getting me for Xmas. I love OBNE, but owning the same pedal twice would make me feel silly!
Other than that, I pledge not to buy a single pedlol until I open your gift on Jeebus day

Re: ILFSS '15 Wishlist Thread
haha....I realized it was horribly generalized/dick-like... then I looked in the mirror and I said "I just hate myself"... (but I ain't going to give in to paying $20 for a hair cut more than twice a year and I hate shaving around scars on my face...that are from shaving...never talk to people/do other things when holding a straight razor before a wedding)
nah, I should have said "If it looks like LA hipster, not for me". DarkAxel is rad/awesome...so not LA hipster
Also, DarkAxel doesn't have a "street cred" pabst or ice house in that picture so he is safe...

So that's where the pt2399 memory man is nowadays! I also like other stuffs, delay(with a loop of sorts
), modulation, flange, stutter. Weirder is better.
Shirt size: Us XL
Music: just about anything that's not rap or country. Vinyl would be swell.
Food: I heart beer! send me your local brew. Only thing I can't really have is anything super salty, like jerky or other cured meats. Everything else is fair game.
Books: Graphic novels are cool
