that would be a great option for the AR's. if people wanted it, charge somewhere between $10-$20 extra for it. its a thought.

It's this kind of stuff that makes me wish I paid more attention in science class....*sigh*

What does dying battery fuzz sound like exactly? Lots of drop outs?

Beavis audio has a cool page on it:

I love the use of the volt o meter.

Its more sparttery and less focused, I think its essentally what the "stab" control does on the fuzz factory.

Yes and no, depends on the pedal, I have done this with quite a few fuzzes (experimenting with the pot values too, for some reason i thought it was supposed to be a 100K pot, 2K is pretty much exactly right).

On most of the pedals i have added this to it does create drop outs, as [u=freeridestylee] says it also can make the sound more "spattery" (good term, describes it exactly IMO) for one pedal it made a drone sound at halfway (dan mini black coffee). The Marshall Mini amps sound cool with this mod too - my poor amp, every time I turn it on it ends up with a new mod ;)

If you mod your own pedals, or circuit bend them this is an excellent mod, you can usually find enough room in enclosures to add another pot, or if not, a dpdt toggle with a small resistor, or Devi's idea :)

These examples are all based on the use of a battery, but could it also work when used with just an adaptor, placing the 2k potentiometer between the circuit and the DC jack?

should be the same principle, but I haven't tried it myself...

It should work the same with an adaptor.
You just need two jacks and a cable to hook it up.
Note analog delays tend to just die when the voltage drops, no neat effects at all.
Haven’t tried it with tremolos or vibes though.

I want to try this with a delay or envelope pedal.

think im gunna try this w/ my big muff reissue this week/weekend.

i really like the idea of having a battery sag box to hook up to any pedal, but one thing at a time.

my 05 battery has been dying for about a week or so and its been my fav pedal during that time, gunna be sad when i have to put a new one in, its still on its original battery.....my how they grow up so fast haha

I've tried this thing with my mini amp, but I have to find the right pot + experiment... btw Drohnwerks has been great (thanks).

I'm working on a few projects, but I wont be able to get under way until sometime next year. Though anything I do make I will take pics of + post them on the forum. :smoke:

Is it possible to do the same thing with a power supply?

With something like this maybe ? (it features both battery and power supply)

(sorry for the over-sized pot.. :D )

Wow :wow what a fantastic idea you have there:
thanx man!
