once i get my tele i wanna stick 2 humbuckers in it and keep 2 single coils
im gonna see if route is big enough to do HSSH, if not il probably do HHH
but what i wanna know, before it gets here is....
do you think it would work if i wire each pup to an SPDT, the SPDTs to a 500k pot, then that to the jack?
i mean of course ill keep a master tone too, but essentially thats what im looking at now
maybe switches for coil taps as well, but im still debating that one
oh yeah...i might consider throwing some phase switches in there too....
i blame spunkz beast bass for this

You could do that, but the switching would be slow and awkward...
Rio Grande makes a humbucker pickup that's actually 2 tele pickups wired together... so coil splitting that would result in a Tele pickup. You can switch between 3 pickups much faster with 2 3-way switches. Essentially, you use 1 3 way for 2 of the pickups, then the output of that goes into the other switch, with the other pickup. That would allow ANY combo of the 3 pickups-- and with less switches. Every other 3-pickup setup leaves out some options, which is just fucking unacceptable.
I know, I know... MOAR SWITCHES = MOAR METUHL!!one, but that frees up some space for other cool things. With 2 more switches (this is very tricky-- so much so that I don't remember how I did it) you can wire any of the 3 pickups in series, or all 3 in series. This is LOUD and bassy. I haven't tried it, but I'd imagine it's pretty intense through an octave fuzz. With 3 more switches, you can do single coil/parallel switches on the pickups. Unless the 3rd pickup is a single coil... then only 2 switches. Which is good if you're freeing up space for PHASE SWITCHES! YEAH!
SHIT... I wanna go wire something now...
But, yeah, if you wanted to be simple about it, you could totally just put on on/off switches for the pickups.

so lets assume its 3H
we could go
each pup to a phase switch
from the bridge/mid phase switches to 3way toggle #1
3way tog #1 to 3 way tog #2 (which has neck pup to it)
3wt#2 to kill switch, to output
can you find the schem to everything in parallel? sounds quite the beast yo

You got it.
...what the hell are you talking about?

You mean the single coil/parallel switches? 'cause, actually... that would probably require 4 pole phase switches, which is sorta a bitch. I didn't think of that before.
But you could do coil taps with normal phase switches... and I think normal series/parallel switches. But putting them both on the same switch gets kinda weird.

What's wrong with 2 humbuckers, both with coil taps? That'll give you HS SH if you want, on some push pull volume pots then switch for phases if you want.

Humbuckers > evil.
Why don't you just get a Tele deluxe HT?

Maybe that's why I've always been a Gibson/Epi man
