I vote you put the Ric pickups in it.
While I like Asats G&L for me falls into the super bright range and yeah they would fit perfect I think Rio Grange make a muy version which would be dark but their site info is useless... I LOVE HiLoTrons actually... that I will look at... Firebirds... I have a love hate thing with them.. Teiscos would rule, they can be dark..dubkitty wrote:i'm telling you, that thing's begging for the G&L pickups that look like skinny P-90s. lipsticks would fit. the routes are way too small for Gretsch PUs other than the little-loved HiLoTrons, but you might be able to shoehorn Firebird PUs in. then there's the various Teisco-style dealies, but those aren't exactly going to be mellifluous in the maple-on-maple setting. or Lace AlumiTones? something in a single-coil Framus stylie?
I think dubkitty's HiLoTron suggestion is actually a great one. I love HiLoTrons too.dubkitty wrote:the nice thing about HiLos is that they're pretty much surface mounts.
