I was going to buy an SFT but I would rather spend my money on an ILF family of pedal builders :)

So Monarch, White Light or Crysilis?

or what is your favorite on bass ?

I think you're going to get lots of suggestions for the Tronographic Rusty Box

I like what I see but there are so many cool over drives out there that there can't be only the Rusty Box and SFT.

No offense to the rusty box but I wanna see if there is an EQD pedal that could do well or perhaps better ? :)

(totally going to get a tone reaper too, just saying)

Well that would be on a different spectrum of things. If you get EQD, get the chrysalis, cause I have interest in that coming from a bass playing perspective.

Have you seen the mountainking behemoth?

I have not but the chrysalis is on my EQD list. Thanks Jero!

Way to go all wildcard. Also, rusty box is sooo different. The monarch's warm, orangey goodness should rule.

cool. keep the Texas Low End posted on your Monarch experience.

Tone Reaper is on my EQD list as well, but will be in holding for a spell... I just got a Sound Shank (which, for me, rules even on 5 string, ymmv)!

Just had my first hour with the Monarch.

Holy Shit.

Bullet points before I begin to rant on how fucking good this pedal sounds

- It defiantly has the orange thing going for it. If you love a good chewy tone , like a brownie that just came out of the oven with frosting on it then this is your type of pedal.

-I am running this at 9 volts from the advice that jamie gave me before I bought it. All around this pedal is dirty dirty just like my ECT. I will eventually run it at 18 volts to hear the difference and how much cleaner I can get it but for now I am just going to rock it how it is because it sounds so damn good.

-I can't hear any low end loss. Not noticeable for me anyways.

I can't stress how warm of a sound that the Monarch puts out. This pedal has a pair because that is the best way I can describe on how it sounds on the bass. The Monarch gives body to your tone and just adds a large crunch on the end of it . It is almost something that you can wrap your arms around.
If you are looking for something a bit more harsher or a thinner sound then this might not be the Earthquaker pedal that you are looking for. However, in the words of the great Paul Baloff if you are looking for, "Thy Heavy" then this is the pedal for you. I have been cranking on the knobs for an hour straight and I can't say that I have found one bad setting on the Monarch.

Thank you Jamie for building such a wonderful heavy device. I am officially hooked. :animal:
