Emergency landings

The first one wasn't that bad, as it landed on an actual small airport away from our destination (despite landing almost sideways due to heavy side winds). The second time we landed in the fucking woods (open area though). The sound of trees hitting the underside of the aircraft was messed up. Anyways, after the first time I went "okay, so I've experienced that. Chances are I will never experience anything like that again". The second time I went "NOPE. Not worth it. I'd rather die any other way than that. I'm done with this shit".

I understand what you say. It's scary as fuck.

Yet I cycle without a helmet because per kilometer, I have more chance of needing one while in car or walking on a sidewalk, according to french statistics.

It's not about statistics though. I know flying is statistically safer than most, if not all, other means of transport. It's just the (possible) time it takes before crashing that makes me NOPE. I don't know how I will eventually die, but I hope to satan that it's swifter than crashing or having a not-so-successful emergency landing.
