Man as much as I would absolutely love to come to this the current Iceland plan is from June 29 to July 11, so you'll have to count me out.

Norway is high up on my list to visit though, so hopefully I can make something happen one day.

MrNovember: Whenever, man! We're always down to jam and hang out :thumb:

Ian: Will do!

Rehersal space:
Ulvenveien 75
0581 Oslo

Meetup: We're not sure what bar we're to meet up at, but all trains and buses stop at Oslo S/Jernbanetorget. That's where I'll be hanging around on Friday, pointing people in direction of the bar. The address is:
Jernbanetorget 1
0154 Oslo

If people want to know my address for some reason, PM me! I'll try to gather up all the info into one post tomorrow so it's a little easier to understand what's going on. :thumb:

General info:

We have a fairly large rehersal space with a big fridge+small freezer, microwave, couch, toilet access, a bunch of guitars, basses, keys, noise makers, amps, drum kit(s) etc. We have 4 guitars (tele+strat+jazzmaster+don't know(Eivind's)) and two basses (Aerodyne+VI). The other ones belong to other bands. The drum kit, mics, keys, misc noisemakers and amps are free-for-all.

YOU bring what you want. Pedals are cool, enormous stacks might be a tad too much. Remember, we all have A LOT of gear, but let's make sure we can also fit the people attending.
Note: You'll be in Europe. We have EU power plugs, so if you plan on bringing anything that requires power (other than batteries) you will need an adapter. I have some 1-spots and a daisy, but EU ILFers; if you have extra power supplies, feel free to bring them along!

We can be loud there 24 hours a day on Saturday and Sunday. Friday we can start at 6pm. I estimate that we can fit around ten people there as far as sleeping goes. Two on the couch, two-three (depending on your need for personal space) on a queen size inflatable mattress, plus a few more on thinner/less pristine underlay. I can also host two people at my place. Hostels are also an option for those who really need their personal space.

Your expenses will be:

Plane ticket/other forms of transportation (depends on where you're coming from)
Shuttle bus/train to+from the airport. (bus $8, train $21)
Public transport tickets. This depends on how much we want to go out and about, but they are $3.50 each and last an hour.
Food. While pretty expensive, living on a student diet for 3 days has never killed anyone or their wallets. I can probably make some larger stews/soups at home to bring also. Fill up that fridge and nuke that grub later!
Beer. Our cheapest beer is $1.70 if I remember correctly. It's pretty shitty compared to more fancy pants stuff, but it'll get you drunk.

Possible schedule for the weekend:

Friday: Meetup downtown Oslo. I pick people up at the train station and point them over to a bar where Eivind will be enjoying himself. Once we're all gathered, we go buy beer+food and head to the noise cavern. Massive jamming session.

Saturday: We head to Vigelandsparken and have a BBQ. We'll bring some portable noisemakers (Volca Beats, Pocket Piano, acoustic guitar etc). There's a 56 foot statue there, made up from 121 naked dudes and dudettes, forming a giant boner. I think you will all enjoy it.

Image

Later: Head back and jam and maybe have some solo shows if people are interested. People just sitting kicking with a beer and watching someone else make noise. Maybe hit the town and get wasted. It's up to you guys.

Sunday: Just chill out. Maybe some want to go sightseeing, maybe others want to jam out some more. Suggestions? Comments?

Attendance list:

I've made a list of those who have shown interest in showing up, in chronological order. For now I've set the RSVP date to April 15th. If you're able to come, let me know before that date (the sooner the better), and if you're sure you're unable to make it the same thing applies. If you're uncertain, tell me when you think you'll know and we'll hold your spot, but try to figure it out as soon as you possibly can. I can pretty much guarantee 12 sleeping spots, so if you're, say, number 4 on the list, you've got a spot if you let me know by the 15th. I'll update and repost the list as we go along. I will look into hostels and other sleepting arrangements if we're way over 12 attending when we're getting closer to summer.

Bold: Going!
Cursive: Maybe
Line through: Not going

1. D.o.S. (wants to see if he can cop some cheap tickets closer to the day of departure)
2. Pepe
3. Tristan
4. Brandsmannen
5. Frodog (can you crash at your friend's place?)
6. ProCarsteNation
7. goroth
8. DRodriguez (knows if he's able to make it around June 10th)
9. univalve
10. monkeydancer
11. vidret
12. futuresailors
13. Ollin (you PM'd me about visiting later in the summer. U out?)
14. Mr. November (too busy with Iceland?)
15. Hypnodrone (you're probably sleeping at home?)
16. SquareWaveFuzz
17. GigaHearts_FX

So, it looks like we're good if those written in parentheses either can't show or are able to sleep at home/at their mate's. Some will most likely not make it either, though we hope that everyone does. We're probably good. Mi casa es su casa, sharing is caring etc.

If you want to join us, let me know and I'll add your sweet ass to the list!

If people want to know my home address for some reason, PM me! When I know exactly who's going to show up, I'll PM you all my email and cell phone number so you don't get lost if we somehow split up.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE! :animal:

My odds are increasing, secured another place to stay on the journey through Europe. Now I need to start thinking about what gear to actually bring.

Also, assuming I do come, feel free to use my american-ness to bypass import fees if you want me to bring something for y'all.

My odds are increasing as well. My wife signed a job contract as a supply (Amer.: substitute) teacher yesterday. For the next few months we're going to have a better income and maybe I can convince my wife that I need a few days off in Norway. :)

I have secured my holidays from 7th-15th of July.
My being there is based on whether it will be possible to go to Dovrefjell or Trollheimen after our meetup.
If people want to join that would definitely be great.
It's impossible for me to fly to Norway without also enjoying the scenery, it's by far the most beautiful country I've ever been to.

Dunno about Trollheimen, but I can bring some Nifelheim albums?

If I can make it I'll probably have sleeping arrangements sorted as well. Got an old mate living in Oslo who I want to catch up with.

Near Oslo there is the Oslofjord.
Dovrefjell and Trollheimen are inland but if we rent a car it's definitely possible to visit the fjords.

Meh. :erm: I just talked about it with my wife. She instantly said "no", before hearing the details. And after hearing them she said that we really have to save money and I shouldn't count on it to travel to Norway. :(
