That seems odd. I find Wires to be fairly tame.

I'm in Ableton 11 (2017 Mac Mini) and when I open the real-time CPU monitor, it's only adding a couple of usage points. There are some real hogs out there (10-30% of CPU for a single plugin), but I don't have a problem with Wires----definitely well outside the top-20 offenders (Zynaptiq, Baby Audio's Spaced Out, IK Multimedia tape emulators).

Did you ever grab any more Sinevibes stuff? I'm using a lot of their effects---Hollow, Dispersion V2, Albedo, Rerun V2, and some others.

Gotcha :thumb:

I'm certainly part of the target audience. A compact dual-mono RE pedal would be a must-try for me

I loaded Wires into Gig Performer not long ago and it was like a 10% hit but Gig Performer CPU and actual CPU are two different things and I have yet to wrap my head around why it is exactly. But GP will allow one to load in multiple instances of it so that CPU usage can be maximized. I'm currently running seven instances for my setup but even still, I'm very CPU-conscious now. If I load in an effect and it is only 1-2% in GP, it goes on the Effects-To-Wear-Out list

I ended up buying the Sinevibes bundle. Several of their effects have really great CPU usage, including Hollow and Rerun. And they sound great, can be a lot of fun and no latency. A worthy bundle to have for sure.

Other bundles I've bought in the last few months: Puremagnetik, Freakshow Industries (though latency too high for live use but love Dumpster Fire, so good on drums), and Arturia FX Collection 2.

I'm really glad I didn't FOMO the RE-20. I prefer Compact pedals and only wish that more of my board could be replaced with them, says the man who insisted on the full-sized SurfyBear Metal.

Just grabbed Lotus...

initial thoughts: I was a bit skeptical of the $120 price, but the features and sounds have exceeded my expectations. It has two layers, with the second screen allowing you to adjust deeper editing of the modulation/filter/noise levels. (top layer is more standard delay & sequencer control) The factory sounds are quite well done. I will be dropping this into Blue Cat's Late Replies and layering my own custom sounds into the FX loop of that plugin at some point. For now, though, I'm content to explore the factory banks and stack them onto tester sounds (Noises, plucks, pianos, drum machines).

They did something interesting on page one. You can turn off the sequencer & set the delay to a short mode. (I can't remember other plugins offering short/long modes like pedals, but maybe I'm just forgetting them.) With higher noise levels on the filter, you can do aliasing/bit crushing with slapback delay, that's still in psychedelic/surreal territory. Factory ad copy tends to annoy me, and the hype on this was a bit irritating, but the sounds are really nice. Just doing basic stuff, it sounds quite good at delivering analog-flavored repeats. I have other BBD emulators, but this one definitely delivers character if you want some noisy repeats.

I'm not sure how many devices you're getting with this---you're getting toy box sounds, special FX / laboratory sequences, noisy BBD, octave/harmonizer (Thermae, Supa Puss, Superball), but with enough tweaking, it could probably handle the same tasks done by five other delays.

Chrome users: has anyone else seen YouTube videos disappear from the site recently? I have to quote people now to see the link. Onscreen it's just a blank space where the video is supposed to be. I've paused the ad blocker and that doesn't fix it.

I already have and love my Boss RE-20. But if there are some additional features on the RE-2,
then I'd be sorely tempted to try or buy one.

The wow/flutter thing could be cool (depending on implementation), but I'd hope for more
delay time and it having at least as many expression control options if not more.

This has been ILF under all browsers for a while now.
Quoting reveals the YouTube imbed code, but it doesn't show up otherwise.
Maybe due to the "not secure" aspect of the http of ILF?

no problems with seeing embedded vids here either - using Chrome on both Android and Windows. My recent weirdness has to do with not being able to paste on the site for the past couple of weeks - Android Chrome only. Haven't gotten around to testing with another browser app on my phone yet.... :idk:
