Bethesda gets all these really great concepts and then do something stupid so they're not as good as they should/could be.
A silly example: they took put out Fallout 3 and there's no more crotch shots...
The very first weapon drop I got in the whole frickin game was the Demon's great Axe. It's not even an axe, just this big slab of smashy-smash. So silly. 5 more points in strength...

Ah ok cool, I see! I only know Bethesda from Cthulhu and Skyrim and they're pretty sweet games.
Awesome weapon choice, Blake! I'll do a playthrough with a strength build sometime too, I like that style. I beat Quelaag last night, friggin Blighttown. It's tough as a sorcerer! (I'm playing AD&D style so no metal armor and no big weapons, barely any melee at all really, no vitality)

Ha nice! Do you ever run out of spells? I'm not sure I like that whole limiting thing they have set up.
I feel like sorcerers owned in Demons Souls because it seemed like everything was weak to magic. Not so much the case anymore?

It's a little limiting but you can buy doubles of all the soul arrow spells so you can have a pretty big arsenal... enough to clear and explore or clear and take on the boss.
I'm saving Demon's Souls for next.. I know all about Dark Souls, all the zones, all the gear, watched a dozen LPs go all the way through, even the PTD content... but I only know a tiny bit about Demon's Souls, so I'll get to play that game blind.
You play on PS3 hey Blake?
Anybody playing RE6 yet? I watched a couple hours of it last night, seems pretty cool.

It's a good point to ponder hey... the idea of a continuing single player game experience vs a game with an end... I like the idea of both. Over 10 years ago I really liked playing EverQuest and I loved how it just went on and on, no end in sight at the time, ~2000. But you kind of get tired of no end and want to finish a game and play a new game...
I forget if you mentioned, spacey, but did you do the Dawnguard DLC?

yessir i did. being a werewolf was lame as hell, i switched back to being a vampire immediately after running out of whiterun to get away from everyone that instantly hated the werewolf. haven't had myself cured of vampirism just because of the vampire site power. way better visibility than carrying a torch or casting candlelight, plus it doesn't make you noticeable. being a vampire was lame aside from that and the amusement of feeding too though. i don't have a grudge w/ bethesda but they did slip on that.
i'm 99.9% sure from map comparison that i've found every place, though i'm not going to take the time to visit every one of them to see if i've run them through since even ones that get tagged as "cleared" get refilled eventually either by time or being sent there to find something.
i loved the game, its graphics were IMO fantastic and its improvements on fighting and use of magic from previous elder scrolls were great, but i don't think i got as attached to this one as the previous two. not really sure why...

Bukow... is it relatively easy to hook up for PS3 online shit? I did it with Smash Bros. and Mario Kart on my Wii, and I just used the same internet connection I use for my computer. It's just a wireless hookup that's included with my rent. I reckon it's pretty simple.
Is Little Big Planet 2 out yet? Which one is superior?

Dude! I dipped out of this thread and forgot about it!
I think it's pretty easy to set up, but I haven't actually set one up
You just need to know the password for the wifi and all that jazz and you can do it wirelessly.
Both are awesome, but I think LBP2 might give you a little more bang for your buck. Its really not the kind of game that's like endless entertainment (like Grand Theft Auto or something) but its pretty amazing when you're into it.
If you like Animal Crossing and platformers you should totally get it

There's a really cool documentary on Netflix I bet you guys would dig, it's called Indie Gamer. It's about the guys who make a couple really unique and cool indie games, Fez and Super Meat Boy, and it's all about their struggles and stresses getting their games ready.
Another one, not on Netflix but it's on YouTube, is Get Lamp. It's all about the early days of text based computer games, the games that had the ultimate graphics of any system ever because they were all in your mind.

FINALLY beat the main quest of Kingdoms of Amalur last night. I crafted and enchanted my own armor and weapons, plus threw in a few unique pieces I had gotten from quests. Which means I was such a complete stone cold badass that I only had to use one potion in the final two battles. Still need to complete the 'theives guild' quest line and dick around with a few other things, but that can wait.
ON TO RED DEAD AND UNCHARTED 3! HUZZAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This thread is making me want to play Dark Souls again...that game really stuck with me for some reason.
I'd love to play through as a mage...I went for an agility/block/counter heavy spear-shield melee my first go round.
Been trying to get back into the things I love (video games + music) after working like a dog for a few months
Juggling between Borderlands 2, Torchlight 2, and The Walking Dead.
The walking dead is pretty fun...a lot of point and click adventure/cutscene heavy stuff but with some nice cel-shading/animation. Have you guys checked it out yet?
My steam name is Morningstaru

Congrats Trey! You've got cool games in your future too, those are gooders... I liked Uncharted 3 more but they're totally different games. It's a great action adventure quest, really fun and entertaining.
I like Borderlands 2 and Torchlight 2 as well.. more than the Walking Dead... it looks really good though, it's a neat game for sure. I say play it first since there's not much too it, more to get into with the other games.
I keep finding awesome new Dark Souls walkthroughs to watch on YouTube.. last night I started this guy's series, it's so cool.. he goes all around the world with the master key getting loots and leveling up gear, all before even the Taurus Demon. He's got a +9 fire weapon and he hasn't even actually started the game yet.. I love watching pros do stuff like that.
And Jon, I'm just gonna keep saying this in every thread you post in... it's awesome to have you back buddy! I hope your work load is lighter and everything is going well for you!

Started Uncharted on Saturday and I've completed 7 chapters so far. A quick google told me that there are 22 chapters all together, so I'm hoping to finish it up in a week or two. It's such a good game as far as story goes - the controls aren't exactly great...I don't remember the first two games being so difficult to control. I may need to mess with the settings and see if I can turn down the sensitivity of the sticks or something. Either way the pacing is great and I am fully engaged in the story and adventure of it all

Cool Trey!
That's one aspect of a game that I never know about from watching Let's Plays, I can tell if it's a fun/good/cool game but I can't tell if it's easy to play or tough to work with etc.
I snuck in some Dark Souls last night... made a fire Estoc +8... awesome adventure.
