The Mastery is truly a feat of engineering beauty... Too bad they don't fit in CP Jazzmasters...
Yeah, that sucks, didn't even realize that.sonidero wrote:The Mastery is truly a feat of engineering beauty... Too bad they don't fit in CP Jazzmasters...
Yep as soon as I get an AVRI it's on... To fit the CP you have to dowel and re drill the holes to fit their thimbles, found out the hard way but Mastery were excellent about a refund...Holy Schnikes wrote:Yeah, that sucks, didn't even realize that.sonidero wrote:The Mastery is truly a feat of engineering beauty... They didn't miss anything when designing that thing tho, got that shit totally right in every way!
Was it close? Just barely off or what??sonidero wrote:Yep as soon as I get an AVRI it's on... CP holes were a hair too big... I could've wrapped tape around it but the whole idea is that the metal makes contact with the wood for them thar TOANZZZ... MY CP was cheap and after buying the Mastery that was all I was willing to put into it... The thought of wood working on it was not something I was willing to tackle especially since I didn't have an issue with the bridge that was already on there... I just wanted to be Thurston Cline...Holy Schnikes wrote:Was it close? Just barely off or what??
I wouldn't have been down to dowel and re drill either unless the guitar was an ABSOLUTE keeper.
If its just a matter of to big, take some shavings from a planer and wrap the posts with wood. I've done this with a Les paul and it's invisible and have had zero problems with it. I think I used maple shavings?sonidero wrote:CP holes were a hair too big... you know where to find me! I would be stoked to build another one for ya!D-Day wrote:I made it!
Speaking of righteous amps the only reason I don't use my radical Dunwich Stonehenge is because I am a dunce who thought a NMV amp would do what I needed. I'll probably sell it soon and step up to something different (more Fendery) from Nick. I was thinking a Bassman 135 clone with a loop. And perhaps Deep and Bright on pots instead of switches so I could dial the amount.
That was a hilarious read!AxAxSxS wrote:Also, I'm not gonna quote it, but AngryGoldfish's rant/speech was spot on. I may have to quote that elsewhere. Believe me guys this kind of music is in no danger of going "mainstream" Out of the countless musicians I've dealt with from cl over the last year, a grand total of ONE was on the same page as me musically. Typical comments- "That sounds really good. Why do you play it so slow?" "that sounds really good, do you like Tool?" That sounds really good, you should get some newer amps" "whats a Red Fang?"
