Had a great trade with cosmicevan! Good dude, cool stuff 
Bad trade w/ a dude named sillyfabe -- his pedal got here DOA, it was stuffed into a box that was too small for it, without a single packing peanut or bubble of bubble wrap.
So *maybe* it worked when he shipped it and broke because he shipped it so poorly, but I doubt it. It's doubtful, because (a) the knobs were *way* off their mark and difficult as hell to pull off; I'm sure it was disassembled and checked out at some point, but he said "never had a problem with it!" And then (b), who would ship a pedal without a single packing peanut, unless they knew it was already broken?
Case closed, imo.
No offer to make it right. Told him it wasn't working, he just said "Huh, that's weird!" Never heard from him again, never offered to make it right, so I sent him a direct but cordial PM explaining my POV, and he replied with an angry but cordial, "have a good day."
Might as well give his side of the exchange, to be fair: I didn't try it right away when it arrived, because I took my time getting ahold of an official EHX power supply to use. Because it had been awhile, he said "not even a music shop would entertain" making it right, despite the way he shipped it. You can decide if that's a good enough reason, if we should behave like fellow gear bros or a music store. Caveat emptor.
