Also, who knew that DLS was still around? I had no idea they were still active.

Also, the Pluto is back up fer pre-odor direct & at a few dealers worldwide for around $549, with a few updates:
There are now dedicated 3.5mm MIDI In and Out jacks.

- Pluto still has a dual-purpose SYNC In/Out jack, but now there's no toggle needed to switch between In/Out modes. Just turn the CLOCK knob all the way to the right to activate SYNC In mode.

- CV Out was omitted to make way for the new MIDI jack

RIP CV out

Line 6 is rolling out their Helix/HX version of the old M5 one-effect-at-a-time multi effect. A lot of retailer stuff that seemed to have gone live is pulled. $300 USD seems to be the street price, 319 Euro at Thomann (if listing is live). People will compare value and size to a used HX Stomp, but this is smaller and is easier to power at 400 mA.

https://www.gearnews.com/line-6-hx-one- ... at-a-time/

I’m not paying full freight, but I could see a place for one.

If you liked the M5, this might hint at that one going out of production and maybe clearance sales.

TC Electronics have released a pedal version of the 2290 digital delay with added bells and whistles including 10 seconds delay time, an effects loop,128 presets, 3-parameter control via expression pedal, and added wiggle room on the modulation options. at $350 it's a bit dear, but it sure does sound good.

https://www.tcelectronic.com/product.ht ... e=0709-AJO

it's so new that there aren't many demo videos yet. the best one i can find is Mike Hermans. content warning: contains cheesy instrumental version of "The Sounds Of Silence":

This has some crazy sounds. There's 10 modes, including multiple experimental and original concepts. I've just started skimming the demos, and I've heard echoes, sample & hold, glug-glug liquid sounds, and repeat percussion/tremolo. You'll also find a TZF mode, a Polychorus tribute, flerb, and other flanger/modulation staples.

https://www.alexanderpedals.com/shop/dynaflanger

(my top-4 to try)
SPIRAL: FOUR synchronized flangers that each spiral up or down forever, creating an auditory illusion like a never-ending staircase. Try a very slow sweep with the RESO turned way up for maximum anxiety.

STEP: Rhythmic step-sequenced flanger with eight selectable patterns. Sounds like of like a transforming robot toy TV show. Use MIDI commands to edit Pattern 8 and save in your presets.

ECHO FLANGER: You might also call this one a poly chorus. Up to 800ms of echo wrapped into a versatile flanger, resulting in a very radio friendly unit shifter. Flange may be placed either before or after the echo for genius tom-tom sounds.

FILTER SAMPLE HOLD: Flanger feeding a randomized filter for classic 1970s “sample and hold” effects. We put this mode in the pedal for a very specific type of user, and you folks know who you are. Ship ahoy!

I was expecting a shorter max time. It’s not the 64 seconds the OG could do when expanded, but I’m impressed that Uli’s workalike made a nod towards those long times.

Hope it doesn’t suck for those who will buy, but this smacks of the whole Uli thing, building a workalike in a box that calls back to the original so people see how authentic it sounds.

Digitech’s socials have been priming how to pronounce “chthonic” this week. Today they used a picture of Chthulu. The Carcosa has already been back, so probably not that but something new. I guess we will find out if this is something that was already on the road map that Tom Cram and crew dusted off when they got the reins back or something more recently devised.
