Pelican dude, Blood Oath is fucking monstrous! Great pick!
Jfrey, I haven't listened to Gigan yet but I've been meaning to for ages. Will cue that shit on Spotify.

They have a new album coming out soon also. I think you will like them.
Wuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope its more like their older material
I, personally, wasn't very impressed with new Carcass. Vocals and drumming (but not the drum sound) are pretty great, but the songs and production overall reek ever so slightly of, y'know, second-rate-modern-death-metal-band-comprised-of-30-something-blokes-signed-to-Century-Media. It's not particularly bad, but it's not something I ever feel/felt like returning to, either. I have a sneaking suspicion that it'd probably be more enjoyable for fans of Necroticism onwards.
Not innovative or new in the least, but I'll be damned if it's not incredibly enjoyable.

Necroticism and Tools of Trade have their moments, but Symphonies and Reek are where its at. Think I'll pass on the new album then.
Carcass and Cephalic Carnage? This calls for a grind thread

I like a lot of the Carcass grind imitators more than I like Carcass doing grind. I dug em once they mellowed out on Necrotism, and have loved everything they put out since then. Which means I'll probably dig Surgical Steel and then go put on the new Exhumed when I want some grind
But yes, bring on the grind thread!

How can I have missed this album? The production is fantastic and the tunes... man... the tunes! So good it makes me
Not a huge fan, but I remember seeing Morbid Angel when I was like 13 or 14 and being amazed at how Trey Azaghtoth could play with all the (what looked like, but it was a long time ago and I can't say for sure and don't want to get all libelous) track marks in his arms. Also Pete Sandoval was a force of nature.
