I need to comb through this thread so I don't post anything that has been posted.
In short, I L O V E all things DUB. Old school - New school. And any of the distant cousins of Jamaican music (Dance hall, 2 Tone Ska, Ska, etc.).
Can I post 2 Tone Ska in this thread too? It seems essential because the OG Dub guys basically made dub out of remixing those old chunes.
I was on a huge kick earlier this Summer (maybe late Spring). I found a bunch of articles on King Tubby's mixing board (he had a background in electronics so all his filters were coils that he hand wound... I'll cite a source in a minute). A large part of the sound was having the legendary space echo or a reverb tanks in the FX Loop and just playing the mixer like an instrument.

I've been ranting about this in Netflix/Prime thread but... I LOVED the show TOO OLD TO DIE YOUNG. The soundtrack had a bunch of two tone ska on it. I need to track down those chunes.

Okay, I was going to post these two youtube compilations of slow heavy dub. Just search that though. It's all remixes of everything already posted here.
So... here is some "newer" (meaning the 90's and onward) stuff. Most of it is out of England. Two compilations from Kevin Martin. One single from Kode9. Incidentally, of all places, I found the Macro Dub Infection comps on Bleak Bliss, which is a noise blog. Kode9... I'm just a big fan of Hyperdub records (they put out BURIAL's chunes).

Actually, this is “rocksteady”... I think. They played this in a crazy scene in TOO OLD TO DIE YOUNG. So many good chunes in that show.
