Fun Fact is that Ireland is my most exported country for gear. 3 fuzz pedals there
I think I remember talking to you last year some time. It might have been in the old HCFX Doom Room. There is actually another Irishman who posted in the Doom Room last year who lives around Dublin—his name is Gary I think. He PM'ed me a few months ago for a chat, but I haven't heard from him since.moose23 wrote:Cheers I'm in Ireland so Italy may be the best bet, read somewhere about custom iron from Italy recently, must have been Ian. Didn't know he was doing amps now too. Doubling impedance will screw me for bass use. Guess I'll start saving for some custom wound then. DR201 is what's inspiring me as I'll never afford to but one.
I'm from Letterkenny but live in Dublin and too lazy too quote both of you it seems..
Oh I can do a Selleck, no problem there. But the Reynolds I must agree is hard to beat.t-rey wrote:Blasphemy. Maybe MAYBE Tom Selleck, but nobody can out Reynolds Reynolds![]()
in general like 12 months+ if someone asks me now. For you I still gotta finish Bretts then we can being ordering your stuff.AngryGoldfish wrote:How's the wait list looking for amps? I've had a few drinks tonight to calm my nerves, so I'm posting like a bitch.
Dan wants something like half Fender, Half Matamp GT120 in a 18W packagemoose23 wrote:I never posted in the old doom room so mightn't have been me, could have been FB or one of the Irish music boards though. Nice to meet ya anyway. I know Gary (guess he posted under Chutney Farmer) pretty well a few years now. Gave him a couple of BC182Ls a few years ago for a Meathead he never built.... Know Sie a bit through a mutual good friend, hopefully gonna have a meet up and gear nerd day soon in our band space.
What kinda amp you getting/building Dan/Nick?
First amp is a Matamp GT120/Fender Deluxe combination in a 1x12 combo. I wanted something for practise and for small gigs that was small, lightweight, simple to use, had cleans and low-gain crunchy goodness, and took pedals well. It'll have 6v6's or something of that ilk and will hopefully be more portable and quieter than my current Fryette Memphis. I wanted the Fender channel to go from BF Deluxe Reverb sounds to earlier Tweed grind, and a Matamp GT120 side that'll typically distort and sludg out sooner than the original. The inspiration for the design is the Tone King Falcon.moose23 wrote:I never posted in the old doom room so mightn't have been me, could have been FB or one of the Irish music boards though. Cool. Are you kept busy for pedals as well, because I have an idea I'd like to talk to you about some time, a tremolo.new05002 wrote:in general like 12 months+ if someone asks me now. My dream amp set-up is still to run a GT1 and a Fryette Deliverance in stereo. That's a long, long way off, though.moose23 wrote:Interesting. Our guitarist is going custom Matamp this year.
