NICE. music is FUN.
Sorry to hear that man. If it's any consolation, I won't be buying from him and I'm sure there are others. He may have got your $155 but he's going to lose some in the long run because of it.behndy wrote:annnnnnnd just got back that PayPal sided with him. he's claiming it's not that noticeable and it talks about the carrier signal on his site and he OFFERED ME A PARTIAL REFUND such a sweetie and "i'm a small builder" boo hoo whatevah. just emailed to see if there's a way to protest that or give them more information. WHATEVAH.
don't even care about the money anymore really. just irks me that he got over on me and this is some weird validation that he's right. ugh.

I haven't had tendonitis, but I've had a Carpal Tunnel-like RSI. I waited too long to start seeking treatment. The earlier you catch it, the better.jwar wrote:So I need some advice from my fellow bassists. I believe I have early onset of tendinitis in my left arm. It fucking sucks and is soooooooo annoying. I attribute this mostly to my lifting heavy weights for such a long period of time. Going to lay off for a few months. Anyway, have any of you dealt with this before? What can I do? When I play my bass it often times hurts, but I don't want to give up my instrument for a few months as well. Fuck. Just curious if anyone's had this issue.
this is absolutely key. if i don't get the bass or guitar hanging at JUST the right height my left wrist--which suffered bad-typewriter carpal tunnel AND got severely sprained in a bicycle crash in the 90s--goes batshit crazy on me. i literally have to do 1/8" adjustments on the straps.Make sure your bass is in a good ergonomic position relative to your body.
I don't think strength necessarily has that much to do with it. It's an overuse injury. Even slight alterations in the way you play can stress your body in asking it to do things it's not accustomed to. If you take things too fast without the proper preparations, damage can occur. To keep playing through the pain makes it worse. Make adjustments slowly.behndy wrote:... i have decently strong hands and wrists and don't get a lot of pain in them. ...

not that long ago i totally fucked up my neck and shoulder playing pedal steel on a too-tall stool and it took me over a year to get back to normal including tons of chiropractic, deep-tissue massage, etc. that's one reason i sold the steel.Chankgeez wrote:I don't think strength necessarily has that much to do with it.
