Very ugly but actually hard to argue too much with the price if it plays well

Honestly, it really just needs a new pickguard. Or at least a little work to fix up the pickguard a bit; straighten out some of those rough edges, find a consistent set of screws, maybe new knobs. Decent price for once though

It might be cool to wire up the two "bridge" pickups with a blend like with the Yamaha SGV-300 guitars, for instance tho it might not have as usable an effect in the bass frequency range

Yeah, that seller basically said all it really needs is a nice pickguard. It's still a hack job though.
