Yay London, fun place to be
You don't believe that really MD.

It's about a class of folks disappointed with their futures, yearning after a past that never really existed finding a convenient scapegoat.
Of course I don't! Sorry if people missed my irony :picard:
We all know honey. We remember your pain when the topic was brought up. If you wanted freedom, you would obviously behead (well exiling them to Ireland Australia would be enough) your royal overlords and not replace them with another family of royal overlords like you did last time.
Consistency!

Sweden is cool, UK is cool. I might live in Belgium then, don't really know yet.

Also, weirdly democracies with constitutional monarchies are generally freer societies than republics. That is weird and also uncorrelated

Define "freer".

not bad

Also, just got confirmation from the airline that I'm being compensated for the 18 hours delay I had to deal with coming back from Norway. All it took was a standardized form, two months of waiting for them to reply (which of course they didn't), and sending my claim again explaining that as a result of their failure to reply in due time, I was alerting the air travail authorities in Norway as well as the French one as the EU regulation 261/2004 establishing common rules on compensation and assistance to passengers in the event of denied boarding and of cancellation or long delay of flights dictated.

Travel money for next time is acquired. :excellent: (Though I'll be flying with Air France, this time)

It's actually pretty easy. You're entitled to a compensation for any delay over 3 hours. The airline can only play the "not my fault" card in the event of force majeur (it has to be unpredictable and independent of their will, like a snowstorm or the airport being closed for security reasons etc...). The compensation amounts to 250-400-600€, again depending on distance. The airline also has to provide everything for you while your stay is prolongated, as long as the delay is over 2 hours (an hotel room if you're gonna have to stay the night, 3 meals a day, beverages...). Delay is calculated within the original time you were supposed to arrive at your final destination and the time you actually arrived.

In the event flight is canceled or you can't make your connection etc... because of the delay, they have to find you a way to the final destination on your ticket. If they can't deliver it themselves, they have to rebook you on another airline.

Never ask to be reimbursed for your ticket and don't accept any offer like that or any compensation before you have traveled to your final destination. You'll lose / affect all these rights.

You're covered by that regulation no matter your nationality. All flights departing an airport in the EU, Norway, Iceland and Switzerland are subject to this regulation (btw D.o.S, you might be eligible for your delay as well, you have a year to file a claim). Flights coming in the EU from a third party state are covered if the airline is European.

what matters is the time of arrival at the final destination on your ticket.
What was it originally set to?
What time did you actually arrive?

Somehow I feel like it's not worth the effort for half a pack of cigarettes, a beer, and a couple hours' sleep on my friend's couch in Boston, but thanks. I'll keep it in mind for the next meetup.

How unamerican of you. You should at least sue your friend because his couch gave you eczema. Find something.
