Happy new pedal day for me, and it was free !

Having rearranged a few pedals to fit the Slicer in, it occurred to me that while I haven't really been able to get much out of my Arpanoid that really made it worth keeping, maybe running it through the Slicer would add something. . . and it did!

Even a short ten minute play was enough to confirm that there's potential for a lot of interesting sounds, and once I started adding one or two of the other pedals it got more and more interesting.

So hurrah for the Slicer and hurrah for its new best friend!

Here's a little clip of Arpanoid into Slicer before I start adding weird squeals to it :)

i'm actually pretty kicked at the moment. since i started planning the road trip i'll be taking next fall, i've gotten back into the whole camping/backpacking equipment thing. i love planning out little expeditions. and i already have a fair bit of equipment and backcountry clothing which i got in the 1990s/2000s and kept on the notion that i'd lose enough weight to fit into the clothes again, which i've now done. i also can start getting into more serious photography...back during the summer i bought a Nikon Coolpix 5000 off someone on the Gretsch forum for $25, which is not bad since it was originally an $1100 item. it doesn't have the flexibility of a proper SLR that takes standard lenses, but it does have f-stop and shutter speed adjustment so i can fuck with exposure, and takes dedicated telephoto, wide-angle, and fisheye lenses that will give me a pretty good amount of flexibility. and since the 5000 is rather obsolescent, you can get the peripheral lenses for like $25 NIB. that shit is gonna be rather heavy for backpacking, though, and the 5000 apparently eats batteries like potato chips so i'll have to get like 3 rechargable batteries and rotate them in-and-out. so anyway, by next fall i want to be ready to take killer wide-angle photos in the Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado mountains.

Just coming down from this, over the weekend. Tired, but very happy and content. The whole thing went off with barely any problems (DJ messed up once, but whatayagonnado?) and my family made the venue look spectacular. You wouldn't even know it was a budget wedding.

Feeling pretty good about life. Got my tap tempo done for my boss DD7. GCI Brutalist Jr. finished up, working after a minor (dumb) error. Made sure the snow blower is ready to go because I need to take care of the driveway and sidewalks. Then my neighbor took care of my sidewalk. 69420 blaze it.

Have been taking it easy for the past month and a half.

Had a few panic attacks, stupidly, due to exercising. Was beating myself up, went to the doctors twice convinced that I had asthma. But i've limited social media, had less alcohol and have been cooking more. Feel so much better about things. Planning another trip to Japan next year for a month.

not that chuffed about things lately--i currently have $4 to last me through Monday--but i am quite happy that my weight as of today is down to 160.5. that's almost 45 pounds down from the weight at which i started in 1/17. not too much longer, and all the flab will be gone and i can finally like my body again :!!!:
