That is amazing, 43 kilos is one hell of an achievement!

I just had a filthy takeaway for the first time in aaaaages with the mrs, just settling down to an evening of doing nothing. Bliss.

Congrats Darcy, that's a major accomplishment!

I got a baitcasting reel for 30bux instead of 60 because it's the left handed model, but I prefer it that way anyhow, so yay.

going to see Lydia Lunch tonight, then tomorrow I'm going on a date with this gal to go see the Melvins. Been awhile since I've been this excited for something.

I found my grandfather's fishing rods. They need some TLC. Gotta learn how to braze some eyelets back onto the guides, and can you say...DOPE-ASS TRU OIL REFINISHES? Stains? Mossy like my bass???
They're all wood, bamboo I guess? Montague brand, so not high-end, but they're workhorses from the 50s/60s. I know there are some old Penn reels in the garage...
Is there an ILFishing thread?

Parenting win.
My son just came in, unable to sleep, and hit me with a barrage of questions that ended up in his querying the etymological origin of "sleep". Answering himself with "well, i guess whwn there were people who could talk, then they could name everything."
Which isn't bad for a six year old.

I pity that this is the sort of shit that keeps him up at night, because basically his life will become like mine.

On the weekend, i overheard him proclaim that "Double Dragon is the best game ever."
So I feel like Im doing something right.

The other night after my band opened for Cymbals Eat Guitars, the sound guy came on stage as we tore down and told said "it's few and far between that I get to see an opener that good, so thank you" which is maybe the best compliment I have ever received in a professional sense. Also we talked after our set (which was just a one-off) and decided that we're gonna actively seek out shows and keep working together after our drummer gets moved into his new place.
Going Sunday to start rehearsal with another band, featuring 2 of the other 3 people in my backing band and two other dear friends. Good music times ahead for sure.

I don't know if 640 is decent for a credit score, but it's waaaaaaay higher than it's ever been.

I fucking love my local Chinese takeout joint.
The woman that owns the place loves me and gives me free eggs rolls just 'cuz. :joy:

Apparently their usual driver had to reduce his hours and, while in a conversation with her about she just says, "hey, are you looking for a job?" Felt pretty nice after the shit I had to deal with earlier with work.
