You don't know our cats, they are evilDisarm D'arcy wrote:How dare you talk hill about cats?
I'm pretty sure he was just impersonating a german cat lover speaking english with a german accentInvisible Man wrote:Old English hyll "hill," from Proto-Germanic *hulni- (source also of Middle Dutch hille, Low German hull "hill," Old Norse hallr "stone," Gothic hallus "rock," Old Norse holmr "islet in a bay," Old English holm "rising land, island"), from PIE root *kel- (2) "to be prominent; hill." Formerly including mountains.
He means 'to speak prominently' about cats, obviously.
Or maybe it's a typo and he meant 'speak ill.' Pretty clear it's the first one though.
